Default Fix the Population Influx

Anet needs to make amber and jade cost the same and price influx with each other. I've been on both sides.

There are 3 dist of kurzicks and 1 dist of luxon. I'm on kurzick side currently because of guild not by choice. I have to wait 5-6 minutes to even join a game. Then if some one in the party leaves we are stuck at the back of the que again.

Price of amber and jade is what creates this populatin influx. This really needs to be fixed.

You can get armor very fast without ever doing any AB. What keeps people kurzick is the price of amber.

If the price didn't matter you would see a more balanced population.

The point he is making is that the devs do not set the price for amber and jade, nor do they set the price for any of the trade materials. It is based on demand. Thus that means more people want amber. And since armor is the only thing that you can use amber or jade for, that means that people must prefer Kurzick armor, or at least they did initially before you could consistently sell it for more gold.

And I don't know what your definition of easy is, but for me and most of the other people I know, it was a pain in the ass just to get the 10,000 faction for the friends quests, let alone 80,000 to have enough to make armor. After doing all the normal quests in each side, you get roughly 10,000 faction. Even with an extra 1,000 faction buffer for any other faction you get for doing normal quests, you still have 69,000 you need to get. Outside of AB that leaves the repeatable quests to get the faction you need. These are generally worth 400 each. Thus to get the 69,000 faction you need you would have to do the same repeatable quests for which ever side you are doing around 172 times. I don't consider that easy I consider that something that would make me want to tear my own eyes out, and bang my head into the computer screen. I know because that's how I got the material for my first set as I didn't realize AB existed at that time.

Personally I think they should simply add other things that you can purchase with faction points, and make jade and amber needed for other things. Perhaps weapon crafters that make special jade and amber weapons that are better than what you can get from the normal 5k crafters. Perhaps making them come with a built in max fort mod or defense mod, or perhaps allow you to choose certain mods to be crafted into them.

That's really the only way there will a shift in the jades favor to make them equal or to get them to fluxuate. What I think would make it even better is if there was something special offered to the side that was winning. Say make something craftable for a limited time once a side has pushed back the other side. Say an 8 hour period. After the 8 hour period is up, the next time the other side is pushes back, then they get it for 8 hours. That way people won't simply flock to the side that is winning. Once someone has won the crafters, the only way to get the item after the 8 hour period is for the other side to win it back.

The devs aren't going to regulate the price of two items and nothing else.

This got me thinking. They really do need to make some sort of incentive that will make us care who is winning over all. As is I would prefer it if the Luxons are pushing us back as it makes it easier for us to win and thus get faction. I hate playing when we have pushed the Luxons back. That simply shouldn't be the case.

Damn it we're beating them too bad... Lose people lose!

oO?

1 faction vs 1 faction = the side with more players wanting to do alliance battles will have to wait until the other side has players available.

1 faction vs 1 faction vs 1 faction = the side with more players will play more battles, as this side has 2 other factions to potentially fight the above problem with only happen if 1 faction has more players wanting to do alliance battles then both other factions combined.

In my opinion the alliance battle team-up system is fundamentally flawed with it being only 2 factions, if they had made it 3 factions this problem would hardly be an issue.

Here's the problem. Amber is trading for more than Jade. Because both are equaly easy to farm farming amber is more worth ones time. HOWEVER. The Devs have a way of balancing out the economy and they do a great job of it.

You thought that, Jade festival and those free weekend events are just for fun. I got news for ya!

Anyway the ponit is the devs WILL balance this out. The Jade/Amber are NOT corolative commodities. IE the price of one does not have a bearing on the price of the other.

So as the old stock market prcincipal dictates. Buy low sell high. The smart money right now is to buy Jade. It will naturalize aagin back around 1plat shortly so while it is low, stock up. I've been swaping my Amber for jade plus some cash and doing rather well as a result.

The 15k sets require 30 amber for the chestpeice and 15 for others, AB is less of a grindy way to do it.
And as said people may like kurzic better, and because its getting used and not merchanted, the price stays higher becuase of less supply, i would think.
