I just bring the +30 health +5 energy sword / +45 health +5 armor primary set ( together with the +10 armor while enchanted works good ) and the +30 energy set for emergencies ( wich works great on that purpose ).

If I had a PvE monk I would have a lot more weapon sets... too lazy to do that tho.

i run a mo/a bl, and these sets work perfectly on countering edenial

set 1:
-5 energy +30hp sword or axe
+30hp shield

set2:
+5 energy +30hp sword or axe
+30 hp +1 divine favor 20% offhand

It isn't just monk that requires such gear. Warrior requires a lot more equipment and all casters require the same shields and varying wands/swords/offhands that monks do. I think you need to ammend your statement to "I will never play GvG" if you truly do not feel the need to "grind".

I remember that , in old days, the 16A from shields only work when damage comes from the front. I don't know what the deal with this thing these days. If still so, I would choose foci over shields

This is usually +5 energy +30 health Sword
And a set of Shields or Offhands (last time we faced a heavy sword warrior pressure, i used my +45 while enchanted +10 vs slashing shield, and a +5 energy axe of shelter +7 vs physical. They were so owned :P

Set 4

Anti Energy-Denial Set

Blessed Light

Set 1

10/10 Wand
+30hp 20% healing recharge Focus

Set 2

Anti Energy-Denial Set

Set 3

Random Set

This can be +45/-2 stance shield if im running Dark Escape, and lots of other shields, offhands.

Eeek! Is that still true?

Also I can't remember... autocrits in the back. Do they only happen when you're moving or anytime you're hit in the back?

-2 pips = 4 dmg/second. This means you have 1/4 second to get either more health, or unequip a weapon. Not happening, even if you're spamming a weapon swap hotkey.

As far as autocrits in the back are concerned, you have to be hit in the dead center of your back IIRC.

I don't know if it works for weapon degen (never looked, guess it doesn't) but you do have a brief period of invinvibility following a shrine res, so if this applies to your degen from weapons then it may give you time to switch.
