Default A fun build to try.. or not ?

I haven't tried any of this, it was just an idea I had. Might only be worth using during ladder freezing but it seems a fun build to play to me.

http://gwshack.us/e6def

I hope the build will do most of the talking. The basic idea is to split with the assassin at the beginning, with the E/A recalling the assassin and the ritualist (using prodigy to keep up with energy demands). The rest stay at the flag as a defensive team with, hopefully, decent pressure from this earth thumper (which could be replaced by a normal warrior but I like the idea of this guy) and the E/A, who helps spike with the earth thumper and mesmer, until the assassin needs help. The E/A then ends recall to join the assassin, to blind any foes and help dispatch them. The E/A can then ends recall on the ritualist to teleport back to the flag or just using windborne to run back.

The ritualist keeps this safe at the flag as well as the E/W who wards the frontline where he will be. One idea is to use ward against foes at the front line to allow easier kiting in the frontline, allowing our team to push forward (still theoritcal).

I have absolutely no idea how well this would work and I realise the recalling idea will be limited on some maps but it seems very fun to double recall for ultra fast movement.

Please give me your comments

hammer build just wont work

1. energy?

2. you need to focus on damage not worrying about when+where to place wards...

3. another simple hammer attack is better damage then aftershock anyway...

lol drewfense. Yeh ritualists seems to get quite a bit of stick these days.. Poor things.

Firstly that E/W thing was just a something funny I thought of. Secondly I did say you could just replace it with a warrior. Thirdly the main point I was on about was the assassin and E/A gankage and multiple recall casting for super speed mobility. Meaning the E/A can help with damage and spiking at the flag then quickly recall to the assassin to help him then quickly recall back. Is this possible ?

I like the idea anyways.

that "hammer ele" (that's right JR, it's an ele with a HAMMER) is simply impossible. you can't have runes in Hammer Mastery if you are an ele. his lack of armor won't be countered by using the Wards, because people will just run around him to hit someone else.

the elementalist with Recall won't be able to do those things, because Recall has a finite range. If he moves outside of that range, the spell instantly ends and he gets yanked back to the target. in this case, if your assassin goes off to gank with Recall on him and the ritualist, your ele will suddenly get yanked to the assassin as the Recall on him ends, and then immediately yanked back to the ritualist as the Recall on him ends immediately afterwards.

------------------

if this is your first build though, then i applaud your efforts. with better understanding of the game, you will eventually produce better builds. in fact, i believe you're off to a better start that i did. for example:

-my first gvg build featured 21 degen skills, 5 rangers, 2 mesmers, 1 ele, and no monks.

-my second gvg build featured warriors with Illusionary Weaponry and Sympathic Visage as cover enchant, because my old guild kept complaining about Aegis and Guardian.

-for my first build criticism, i complained why people use superior runes, when 3 minor runes can accomplish the same thing with no health penalty.

anyways, use this forum as well as others for reference. read every build here, and read the criticisms. watch alot of gvg battles on observer mode, and then try again. you have some very good references, which is much better than what i had.

lol. Not exactly my first build but oh well. I said it was a bit of fun but you obviously didn't notice that bit. I also said the E/A's multiple recalling was dependant on the map and yet to be tried but you didn't notice that bit either.

I know people don't like them in GvG but my guild uses a Ritualist and a normal balanced. This seems to work well for us with that defensive sponge idea at the flag with ganking warriors and E/Mos.

When we play a lot we can get to about rank 280-300 but we can't really play so much anymore

So not exactly my first build

....does anyone use earth shaker in GvG ?

Running eight Paladins is also fun, but I sure as hell wouldn't want a pallyway build posted here.

Just to piss JR off:
Pallyway:
1 w/mo
another w/mo
another w/mo
a fourth
a fifth
an order of pain necro (you should be able to find one in HA id1
a sixth
JR playing a crippling anguish mesmer/ranger with read the wind (don't ask why)

As for the build:
You have two hex removals, one of which is blessed light, in a meta that is getting more and more hex heavy.
The monk builds are on the whole solid (mend ailment on a b-light?, take distortion) but they have no support with either hex or condition removal from the rest of the team save a solitary extinguish... On the runner...

That warrior is just... bad.
