I really have sympathy for people with r0 as I know I am r3 almost 4 and have difficulties to find pug (luckily I have lots of high ranked mates to play with) but since I play also in pve alot I am not high rank as them and it hurts when rank 7-8 that doesn't know you acts like an ass toward you and I am pretty sure I can monk better than most of those, especially infuse. :F

Hi all, I've been reading about people trying for rank and getting fame, About Rank is a indcation on good playing and how they are not.
My view is To be able to say that you are a good player you need to be able to play the game good, Thats PvP and The main part being the PVE. If you can Play both with Skill then you can say you are good.
I understand that getting the first 3 rank is hard because people think that all under rank 3 are noobs, Maybe but still thats not the act of a good player.
In my book good players should share as they learn more from others than selfish views of self interest.
Besides they could be awesome players who never played HA and they miss out on quality players ( thats the act of a True NOOB).
Well I would like to team up with any of you guys I like to put more time into PVP as I would like to achieve a good Player of the game status. Eventually I would Like to form a team for the tournament.

I can never find a group in HA...it used to be so easy as a Monk...until IWAY popped into the heads of the majority. I'm not Rank 3, therefore considered a 'noob', even though I've been in PUG's that have won the Hall

If ya need a competant healer, mesmer, or Ele, just give me a whisper. I don't have a PvP character though...which is probably hindering my efforts as not all builds are open to me.

Preferred Role Since I'm pretty new to PvP, I'm open to playing anything. I don't have all the skills unlocked yet, but I may be willing to spend the few k it takes to unlock the skills needed. I've got quite a bit of PvE experience with my necro and as such I'm more comfortable with that.

Also - I'm working on getting a vent server up. I'll probably be open to letting a group use it every now and then, just ask me in-game. It's not up as of yet but it probably will be in the next day or so.

RANK: 3 (but pretty much through IWAY PUGs, and yes we even won the halls with IWAY. No I do not feel like it taught me as much as I should know at R3)
UNLOCKS: everything (Prophecies). No Factions yet. But very knowledgable of it.

- Recall Boon Prot (more of a GvG build though...)

I love and have played just about anything Mesmer. Excellent monker (though not usually in HA). Please don't make me a warrior or ele. Looking forward to seeing the new "elite" Ghostly Hero in HA.

The problem with pugging low ranked people is that there is a large large chance they will be unaware of crucial elements for very simple builds.
For example: The other day I/my friend made a ranger spike team where I took 3 <r3 people from my alliance to play rangers. All of them had to be told what skills to bring, 2 of them did not have the necessary unlocks, and the guy who brought enchantment removal didn't use it at all. When I asked him afterwards why he didn't use, even when i specifically called for it, he just said he forgot he had it. I didn't realise until afterwards when i watched one match on observer mode that 2 of them didn't follow the dual shot with an interrupt. All in all it made for a pretty lame spike. To be blunt, the reason why people don't invite lower ranked players into their teams is because they don't want to risk said players sucking horribly and ruining their game experience.
Anyway, good luck with the group forming <3 , I'm just trying to give insight into why rank has the effect it does. It's not elitism, its just people dislike losing to teams they would beat with competent team-mates.

You're absolutely right, and that's why this is such a good thread. I think it's great that unranked people can practise with eachother in this way. Sure, a lot of mistakes will be made, but it are from mistakes that you learn the most. Players who are expierenced wanna play with other expierenced players, that's logical. But in the end IMO it all comes down to this: judge a players ability once you've played with him.
