No, a build is overpowered when there are 7 pages of posts complaining about how powerful it is.

not extremely overpowered. learn to pressure him, he can't cg when he's kiting.

But "oh noes whirling defense!" shock him when he tries to cast cg.

"But there's no shock warrior, I'm playing Blood Spike"

Play blood spike less.

No, a build is overpowered when there are 7 pages of posts complaining about how powerful it is.
I don't know how you get to the overpowered builds part, ever watched us on obs mode? We don't run CG rangers if that is what you mean...

Oh and it's 8 pages now, but there's 1 thing you forget, not every1 is complaining. We can reduce that 8 to 1 page with posts of you.

To answer the OP:
Are choking gas rangers forcing a change in the metagame?
Choking gas is the metagame.(or were b4 all the hex/degen build, been wanting to say that for ages ). It's like when you had balanced with 2 surgers.
Seriously ive seen more pug balanced with choking gas rangers than ive seen bloodspikes and IWAYs.
I guess shard is getting annoyed because his interuptless bloodspikes cannot interupt a 2 second cast.

good seeking arrows interupter > choking gas ranger.

If you want to get technical, it's 8 pages of 1 person trying to convince roughly 20 morons why a complete shutdown build might be broken. Choking gas aside, ghostly interrupting has become a joke. I've seen teams win or prevent winning because they can interrupt a ghost for 5 minutes, and killing the ranger is the only counter. Yes blind works, but it's not a counter because every team with a CG ranger has a prot monk or extinguish spammer. When the only counter for a build is to kill it, it's broken.

So, are CG rangers forcing a change in the metagame? Every balance team I've fought against in 8v8 has at least one, most of them have 2. And no I don't play blood spike 100% of the time, in fact I haven't played 8v8 blood spike for some time, but this thread isn't about me. The typical balance team has 2 melees, 2 monks, 1 support, and the rest offensive. The choking gas rangers can shot down either the monks, the support, or the spelluser offensive characters (eles, mesmers, necros). I've played choking gas before, and couldn't believe how good it is.
2 skills shutting down 8 skills = broken. If you don't understand this kindergarten math, why are you playing this game.?

On a four minute map? Yep, it's broken. It allows you to play for longer than the allocated time. :/

So they're a strong, plug in style character. So are shock axes, word of heal monks and spirit spammers. Who really cares?

interrupting the ghost for 5 minutes isn't a cg problem, it's a seeking problem.

ADDITIONALLY...the only way to counter a monk is to kill it! zomgzorz nerf monks!

You can also interupt a monk to counter it!!!! Oh wait, you can do the same with CG...maybe bloodspike should adapt to CG instead of nerfing CG so bloodspike can go on.
