Bleh, yeah.

Think about it though. 6 man teams either means sacrificing offense for two monks, or trying to pull through with 1. Either way, 2 monks aren't going to survive with 5 or 6 people beating down on them.

5 e/a with starburst and flame burst is going to overwhelm most teams.

If you want to have a chance of holding, and most good teams will, you need two monks.

6 man team is not good.
plz make it 8.

the only thing this 6 man team sh*t is going to do is make vim-iway even more ridiculous...

sure , destroy the balanced, make it loose either attack power or healing and lets make it 6 man team so we can do a team with 2 w/r and 4 r/w... gg

The fact that you even seem to imply that Vimway is anything more than a scrub farming build makes your point invalid.

If you are worried about that build then bring a warder for the warriors and some condition removal and a nuker for the traps. problem solved....

and on another note am looking forward to this weeken. double fame, new builds ideas, new people in tombs, and now all we need is NEW MAPS PLZ!

People tend to complain no matter what great idea Anet developers came with.

6 man teams are really nice thing. Will give some freshness to HA, which is really needed there (HA is overlooked by many good players cause of static, boring meta there).

I also don't understand people ranting about double fame. If someone think's that it has some meaning and likes to have rank - then he should be happy. If someone considers that fame's big bul***t then he shouln't bother at all.

And 6 person ViM is nothing harder to beat than usual one. It's easy.

what are new maps gonna do???, your still going to get the same amount of fame, all we need is to wait for nightfall imo, and to blade you do know eles have reduced damage to rangers and wards dont really help against vim when they are trapping in it.

I honestly think it is going to be harder to farm fame this weekend than ever, so many more decent players will be taking part. Just about every serious GvG guild will probably do runs, aswell as pugs of the various players. Then the top HA guilds are probably going to be more active than usual. To anyone else it is going to be twice as hard to earn that double fame.

I can say I'm truelly not looking forward to this really in either regard... 6 man teams could be fun as an any old weekend thing, but the first nice long weekend that I was looking forward to do some playing for nice long hours, is going to be turned upside down and inside out. Double fame means your going to have tons of new people flocking to it, which is fine on its own, but once the weekend is over, your going to have the IWAY problem all over again. As tough as that r0-r3 grind can be, the experience is invaluable. After this weekend most r6+ groups are going to be replaced with r9+, and it will seem even more hopeless for new players, and you will start to see MANY r10+, r11+, etc. who just simply don't want the 'fame farm weekend' players in their groups.

Simply what it comes down to: Even if it wasn't intended to be a discriminating factor in HA, Fame is, and this just makes it worse.

People who are already laughing at IWAY/VimWAY being scrub builds.. But frankly they're going to be quite effective while balanced teams are left with the choice of "Sacrifice healing or offensive capability" and then making up for the reduced capability.

I really don't understand any of this. How does a weekend of double fame somehow make rank discrimination worse?

As I have already said, I think this weekend is going to make Tombs a challenge. Fame earnt this weekend will have been earnt playing against some of the best players, with new builds that you will have to develop and counter. It will certainly be worth more than fame earnt every other time with IWAY, simply due to the need to actually think.

IWAY and VimWAY also have to sacrifice characters, I don't see how people seem to think they are buffed in a six man environment...

JR is right about the competition increasing, more people in HA this weekend, no jumps, so there wont be many easy games past scared earth, to wrack up any serious fame runs you will have to play every map, no more halls skips, holding wont be easy either, there wont be the usual henchway/iway retards in halls to hold against, the teams that get there will know what they are doing, also there will be a fair variety of new builds about, perhaps a lot more NR/Tranq to counter the increase in boon prots around.

How come 6 ppl build is different from 8ppl build? I think you will see a lot of vimway: 3/3, 4/2 (vim trappers+iway wars).

Double fame. It sounds great but it's not like double drop, you don't get it by just running to some chest. There are experience players and they will own every single r0 team. If you don't have r3 you won't get any fame, if you are not r6 you may be able to get some fame by raping r0 newbies, and if you are rank 9+ then welcome to "St. Bartholomew's Day massacre", enjoy it :-/

Overall, BAD IDEA.

erm you are forgotting that most of r9++ are iway players. Try to play iway on 6 man team 3 eoe ele's 1 warder and 2 monks own them. Ss it wont be massacre imo.

It won't make it worse among current players, but when the "average" fame shifts upwards 2-3+ ranks, new players are going to have an even harder time than they do now. And yea it is going to make it a challenge for the first day or two until everyone has adapted to having 2 less people.

Pressure=Pressure, whether its coming from 8 people or 6 people. A balanced team has to look at it as "We are going to lose either offense, or defense, or a bit of both". Pressure builds (such as IWAY) are able to look at it as "2 less people to kill" (and/or they're going to have less healing).

Not to mention I'm sure alot of people are going to be tempted to drop primary defenses (ie. warders) rather than losing a monk, which just makes it that much easier against IWAY.

FoTM builds are going to do better as they can simply just "get rid of the extra things that are nice but we don't really need". Balanced groups don't have such a simple option.
