Yes, 6v6 certainly crushed all the Fotms. I have yet to see any thumpers, aoe smiters, or vim! This new 6v6 playing field is godly and has greatly reduced the Fotms and I highly doubt any more will come out. I think it has all made the skills apply poison, melandrus arrows, and crippling shot worthless.
/endsarcasm

Seriously... HA is way worse than before, its literally close to the exactly same build over and over and over.

U c a bunch of gimmick builds, whereas other people see free fame, and i dont mean for the thumpers and aoe smiters.
How dare u even mention ViM, it is also free fame.
Btw it doesnt take a real genious to counter thumpers and condition and hex heavy builds, which is what most good teams are doing and farming Ks of fame.

Uhm no. I said I had limited experience with 8 man HA. I have a lot of experience with 8 man team(s). I don't have proff either, but if you'd like, I could maybe provide some proof for you. As for noobs, you don't see many past the first 2 maps.

As for those saying it limits creativity to only have 6 player slots. You couldn't be more incorrect. This game is founded on the fact that you do only have a limited set of skills to bring, and the very foundations of creativity in this game have been built on that mechanic. So with 6 man you'll see less lame holding builds, and people will have to rely more on tactics and careful planning in order to hold halls.

If all you pro HA players can counter all the noob gimmick builds like vimway why complain about them?

Why not praise them since they are afterall, free fame.

Maybe the pro HA players don't care about fame anymore and are playing for fun? I'd rather play a 30 mins good match against a good balanced team then flawless a vim in 2 mins.

6vs6 killed the variety in Tomb. No more Holding Builds, No more Bloodspike, No more SB/Infuse Monked Crap Teams, and oh noes, no more IWAY.

only viable HA build now is VIM. yes, only one. that is VIM.

I am liking this event a lot. 6v6 is more fun,and in fact means quicker matches. Yes there are first time PvPer's trying to get a group, but that means teams are going to be easier to beat. I have in fact gotten at least 150-200 fame in 2 hours, with yes VIMWAY! I am in fact proud of vimwaying,as it is just a build. Why do people complain about it? Really,as mentioned,it is just a build, and you shouldn't waste time by calling ppl noobs just because they vimway. If you beat it a lot,and are getting tired of fighting it,I understand,as fighting a certain build to much can get very anooying, but most of the people who complain about it are the ones who gets owned by it.

This kinda sums the whole event , as well as 6 vs 6 HA perfectly. There are 3 builds now - vimway, melandru/cripshot combo and smite. GG anet, at last we are free of the old , boring tombs with long boring matches.

Totally agree with that! I think the fact that tons of peeps are getting their deer this weekend isn't popular with the hardcores, but it's good for the casual players, I suppose.

I got my R3 before the weekend started, but haven't played much this weekend... and now all my FoW friends have their deer... so much for my one advantage. I just hope R4 doesn't become the new R3.

I wouldn't be suprised it that happend, on a bright side of this event I've almost UAX all the non-elite skills on my account for the core classes, so maybe I'll be out after the event capping the elites, which will be fun (NOT).

I start when the event began with 11 fame I now have 65 fame, I don't think I'm in any danger of gaining the coverted deer before the event is over, by any means, well not with the noobs I have to put up with at least.

You maybe rolling all the Iway/Vim teams souly on the reason that there idiots, they don't ball, they don't trap properly, they don't wait, they don't place spirits in the right place, they run all over the show, they don't use the right weapons for it, some even call themselfs trappers and yet there healing spring does pretty much nothing or don't use it at all, or taken it out due to the fact that they think it's pretty worthless, and of course it is if you don't ball it don't work, I've even seen IWay warriors with no pet and use the skill before anything has died.

Why unlock skills when you can buy them for ten bucks! /sarcasm

I'm just a little mad my "legitimate" R3 means absolutely nothing now... not that it really did before.

I took screenies... I don't have the Factions' Touch skill, or IWAY unlocked, and got my R3 before the event.

I was not complaining about these builds, I was simply pointing out the fact that all these people saying "LIKE OMG 6V6 TOTALLY MADE HA NEW AND THERE ARE NO MORE FOTMS" are on crack, and there truely is about 3 or 4 builds now that actually work.

Because I don't really want to unlock those unlocked skills twice just to make sure!

I'm mostly UAX already there isn't much I can't build, the only problem with builds I have at the moment is elites, and I ain't spending 3000 faction to unlock that.

It's great I love it! I soooooooooooo hope it's permanent. So much easier to form a team, more variety in builds you can realistically run, challange is greater with all the top100 guilds and TA guilds in HA. Finally HA feels fresh and exciting again.

Even more fun is there is one 'Flavour of the Weekend' - ViM teams - they're so easy to kill, even easier than IWAY - frenzy wanding FTW!

Im loving it, my guild has been running balanced the whole time, and really tearing it up, we've been running an RC and a Boon (me) , a Mo/E Smiter with Ward Vs Melee+Ward of stability, and a mesmer, combined with Two W/A (Builds our secret)

Vim? Owned by Rc Prot
Thumpers? Owned By Dual Wards and two prot monks
Balanced? Depends on skill, our W/A usually get more spikes off than a W/E
Dual Smite? Mesmer has a field day
Hex Heavy? Expel Hex's and 2X Hex removal on monks usually suffices

6v6 Put balanced back where it should be, the most versatile and effective build, gimmics are Weak if you know how to build a team properly

to quote you on your 1st paragraph....i understand what you mean but ill still say 8 man team gvg build and 8 man tombs builds are 2 different things.

to quote your second paragraph..i understand what you mean also but Ive already seen a rank 65 jap guild run the build we run (not hating cuz i know it wins but w/e) im seeing more and more and MUCH more cripshot/poison melandrus ranger team with debilitating shot spikes (my favortie on monks atm) ...yes ofcourse there are more tactics and i have mad much interupting spells w/o the needed of chocking gas not like I ever needed to rely on something that cheap...but hey if something wins ALOT like the conditions spread rangers and vimway and thumpers that ALL the people are going to run..and no im sad to say they are not guilty of doing so because if yall havent alrdy got the point that tombs is all about running the lamest and the simplest and the fastest then im sorry

Im not callin you out Van...tho i dont think you see things as a real tombs player does which is cool...just provide more reseach is all im saying

you're right, I probably don't see it as a real tombs player and will gladly never refer to myself is a 'real' tombs player.

and for the record, tombs has ALWAYS been about running the lamest and fastest thing sprinkled with people who run serious builds, and if you think that's the result of 6 man play you are seriously mistaken. If there are more quick win builds this weekend it has everything to do with double fame.

cheers

vimway lfg.

but seriously appart from vimway - it's been quite fun. I think. There's still people running scrub necro spikes and smite balls, which is their loss to be honest. But there's also been some interesting builds come out. lots of tense matches too.
