IMO, the map itself is a problem, not just the timer. Any altar map with 3 teams where one isn't holding initially comes down to politics more than actual player skill. If you're the guys who happen to get double teamed (common if you're a high ranked or well-known guild), no amount of player skill will save you unless the other teams just suck that much.

If I saw [NUKE] at courtyard, i'd guarantee I'd try to work out a dual gank versus you. :P

You know what else is fun though? ganking both priests then killing both ghosts and capping.

It's kind of an honour to get double teamed at courtyard. It's like, we think you're so good were're going to smack you around first.

Those were the days *sigh*

I will admit in my time I've used that extra time given on courtyard to PM the leaders of the other teams and try to get them to fight each other. In terms of the map though, there are more pressing issues with it, but I don't see how a lower timer could be such a bad thing, since most groups wait anyways.

If it happens to you every single courtyard game, you'll grow tired of it very quickly.

I don't PvP often (or even reach the Courtyard often) but it is the most boring place ever working up to HoH... a 10 minute time limit and 7 minutes of standing around with people PMing to double team 'x' or 7 minutes of people randomly wanding people... its so incredibly dull. 5 minutes would be ok.... i've never seen a proper battle start there before the 3 minute mark.

The one we had yesterday was fun. Smart People (red) chased us (blue)around the whole map, while yellow went and took out both our priests and capped the altar. Red then decided to back off and both red and us decided to go on yellow. The fight lasted the whole game, was so much fun Yellow won in the end because cap attempts were being interrupted for 2 minutes straight.

Yeah i definately agree, you rarely see a team cap in the first few minutes unless, they are a blood spike and they think they can hold for 9 or so minutes or one team jsut caps straight away and then distracts oppsong ghostlys for 9 minutes.

5 minute Courtyard ftw!

i quite like it as it is, a bit of time for a toilet break, can take my time to decide tactics and organise who's doing what, think of some odd tactics if u r up for it. i'm a slow thinker extra 2-3 min do me nicely. i personally think 4 min in hoh is too short, just have enough time to check both team then have to go in straight away.

Nah then there'd be no time for flame-spike and going to the bathroom
and that would be kinda messed too if you had no control over your ghostly.
I would say reduce it to 8 minutes, that would still give plently of time to spam "Blue Is R10+!!!!!!" and "Roflzorz iway noobs" in all-chat

ROFL. pretty true, half the time people on vent say "be right back piss break" and that kind of adds to the dullness; though if you're not getting very many skips it is a nice time to go get something to drink or go pee.
