Default [6 MAN] Ranger-Heavy Pressure

http://gwshack.us/5f589

Basically, the idea is to beat the energy out of enemy monks.

The two R/W's are experimental thumperish builds that sacrifice the pet for more free slots, Backbreaker, and a ~perma-Lightning Reflexes so that overextension is less of a problem than it normally would be against GvG'ers taking a brief interest in fame farming in a "new" gamemode. Protector's Strike is there to help with building adrenaline.

The cripshot is essential to the build, since the thumpers otherwise have no snares. Poison provides some extra degen, Debil Shot is nice energy denial, and Dodge is nice for relic runs.

The orders necro is fairly straightforward. DF helps plenty with BB, and OoP is nice in general. It also has corpse control and some support stuff with OoB to power it all. Not much to see here.

Ward of Stability is critical for capping, and WaMelee is helpful in general. I'm not sure what to drop to put in WaFoes, which would help in relic runs... suggestions?

Finally, there is a solo HLight monk. Supplemental healing (and holding power) have to come from the necro and ele.

"On your Kness!" only works on Warrior stances IIRC.

EDIT: Just checked skill listings, I was wrong.

Your probably better off going blessed light with channeling and prot stuff over straight healing. Also for hammer rangers tigers fury hands down is the best attack speed increase.

i think the r/ws could be improved
a guildy has been working on similar ones for quite a while now and has got them nearly perfect.

so i can say for sure, that they can work so people shouldn't just push them aside because they are different.

to warriorsmiley, whats so good about tiger's fury with no beast? lightning reflexes is far the most effective skill when used as it is in the build.

i'll give this link to my guildy, he might wanna help you with the r/w builds

i think the orders necro is screaming to get shutdown which will make dps pressure too weak to crack a team

What makes tigers fury better then lightening reflexes is a 10 second recharge over a 45 second. 14 expertise is way more then you need for a thumper to be honest all you have to do is invest 8 points in beast mastery with a minor rune to get a 9 second tigers fury. Now lets say if he misses his backbreaker because its evaded, blocked, or he is blinded. Now he is sitting there for 30+ second with no attack speed increase. A hammer rangers damage without the attack speed increase is easily healable. Also with tigers fury now as his attack speed increaser he frees up "On Your Knees" and can now can take another skill maybe wildblow for practice stance rangers or even hammer bash for when the monk gets up 3 seconds later.

No ward against Foes?

I would swap out draw for ward against foes.

I am the guildy nataku mentions:

Well it looks like the essay that I typed on the matter has disappeared, so as I can't remember most of the points I put I shall try and summarise.

1) You can store up a lightning reflexes for use later in the battle if you forgo it's use at the start (for instance, charge adrenaline with a bow, then do knockdown, lightning reflexes, on your knees instead of lightning reflexes, wait, knockdown, on your knees, lightning).

2) A speed boost might be handy on the rangers, lightning reflexes whilst good, is useless if you cannot reach the enemy. Also useful for broken tower, and relic runs (you can use the knockdown of your other warrior to use on your knees to refresh stormchaser for instance (adrenaline should be provided by the enemy attempting to spike you...)

3) Consider using bulls strike in the build as a means of an 'energy knockdown'.

4) My personal experience is to favour devastating hammer, the lower adrenaline requirement allows some leeway between reflex casts. Protectors strike might allow you to make up the adrenaline, but it would be expensive.

5) If you are someone to use a mouse for skills, I recommend a 2*4 skill bar (or 4*2 depending on frame of reference), my random arena build:

1) Irresistable blow
2) Distracting blow
3) Devastating hammer
4) Lightning reflexes
5) Storm chaser
6) On your knees
7) Troll unguent
8) Resurrection signet

ends up looking like:

1 2
3 4
5 6
7 8

so it is easy to click a chain (and uses the stance before stance renewal trick described above - also keeps my adrenal knockdown away from a shout that causes all adrenaline to be lost).

While i like your on your knees storm chaser thing RA and HA are 2 differnt places. While in RA your only gonna run into a boon prot or a warder every so often lightening reflexes on your knees is useable. However in HA your pretty much gonna run into a trapper, warder, guardians, displacement, every map you in relaying on your team to power your stances is a big problem. Where as if you take tigers fury you relay solely on yourself to keep your stances not on the chance that your KD's are always gonna land. Also seeing as it is a pressure build your gonna always want your attack speed stance up to maximize DPS.

"On Your Knees" only works on warrior stances afaik. I may be mistaken though.
