Default EvIL's GWFC loss

I hope everyone agrees that EvIL going out of the Championship against iQ was totally unfair. The way that iQ played was disgusting, lacking skill and thought against one of the best guilds ever, it is quite frankly insulting to the Guild Wars community. Please post your thoughts on this issue.

if you define skill as facing your enemy heads on, my skill counter yours, killing with grace, youre wrong. mind you this is not tombs. to win GvG you must only do 1 thing: kill Guild Lord.

what iq did was a good way to preserve their npcs and to exhaust Blessed Light Monks past VoD and finally bagged them a win.

and Sacrifice + MS was hot.

grats iQ finally.

It's a bit like complaining that EW won season two due to their FoC spike. It may be 'gimmicky' but when all's said and done all builds are gimmicky to some degree.

Anyway, would you play to lose instead of play to win?

iQ played with great skill. Skill is knowing what to do, and when to do it. Having utilised this tactic myself (stalling, knowing we have a VoD advantage) in the last fun season, in games against PnH and RenO, as well as when guesting for and against EnS - who did it also, I can do nothing but commend them on making a superb Build choice and playing the game fantastically well.

Just because there is an issue with the mechanic of Victory or Death, it does not mean that Guilds that abuse the mechanic are unskilled, lame, or any other such term. Guilds that feature Assassins, Ritualists, and often incredibly defensive Builds are doing so predominantly to stall for time, gank NPC's, or protect theirs better when VoD comes around. Are all these Guilds disgusting and lacking of skill?

how was that disgusting? iQ wanted to protect their npcs and they did it, EvIL had moral advantage and they still couldnt win, its their own fault they are out,

you wanted iQ to go out and let their npcs die to the assassins? you know nothing

I personally loved the tactic, which iQ pulled off flawlessly.

There is nothing wrong with what iQ did, but it made the matches outright boring.

OP, first, your post is a bash against a guild. Good luck gettin' that past the mods.

Secondly: wtf? iQ wins, so they're.... less skilled? If it were truly the case, should't EviL have been able to take advantage of the skill difference? Or, heck, even run the same build?

Gawd, less whine please. Your jackassery is showing.

lern2win?

This match just showed that skillS (pre-match building) > ingame tactics, skill or anything. You could tell the outcome as soon as the match started... iQ's build sole purpose was to inflict AoE damage on npcs/GL. EvIL's rigidity build-wise and their unability to counter iQ's simplistic plan wrapped it up.

iQ won, they used the tactics and build that they needed to pull off a win, and they did it well. There's a reason they're in Germany, and winning.

iQ played for VoD and won. If you don't like the mechanic, complain about it, not about the people that use it to it's fullest. Congratulations iQ and good game.

Who gets to choose the third map anyway ? If EviL would've chosen something like Warrior's Isle they might've taken it.

...and it's not like what iQ was a mystery.

Guild Wars Factions Championship Match Report
Irresistible Blokes vs. Idiot Savants

Game 2 - Jade Isle

Glyph of Sacrifice, Meteor Shower. Perhaps that's what iQ will be remembered for in this second game, but for me, it will be iB's monumental failure to execute that told the tale for this one.

When VoD hit, iQ's plan went into motion. Their Trapper, who had played decoy nearly the entire match, dashed to the front of the pack. He put up Whirling Defense, and body-blocked the ENTIRE NPC core of iB. Balthazar's Aura went on him, and iQ's Elementalist used two skills he'd been saving the entire match–by now, I would hope you know what I'm talking about! In a blink, the red team went from Morale control and apparent positional advantage to dead, defeated, and absolutely sunk. iQ enjoyed their first morale boost shortly after, and only had to wait a little bit longer for the Blokes' Lord to make his way out to the middle.

evil's build just wasn't good, assasins are good in ganking but not in larger fights.. and IQ knew Evil was weak in those larger battles, so they just used those NPC to their advantage and killed those of evil, just pure skill, not lame

while this is not love or war, and those two certainly aren't fair

I think it was just good game planning and tournament experience that iQ exhibited. They had a good idea of what they were going against, planned for it, and executed well.

Anyway - moving this to the PvP section . . .

No it wasn't the fact that they were in a larger battle which got iQ the win. Both of EvIL's monks were robbed of energy.

Could anyone please tell me what IQ's build was (without using a horrible amount of abbreviations) or give me a link of some sort of observer recording the match?
