I think the best way to deal with the non guild teams is to just make up a group name with a tag.

Deleted,
Can you set a date for the tournament yet and a closing date for registration? This would really help get the ball rolling...

Peace,

to be honest, if I'm gonna be spending all day doing 4 man gvg scrims without the gvg elements, I'd just as soon get 4 more guildies and go get some champ points and do some real gvg.

GL with the tournament though.

I'm not missing the point, my priorities are simply geared elsewhere. I like TA, I like it a lot, the reason I like it is because it's a quick pick up and go arena where you can occasionally fight some challenging teams and unwind. If I was interested in an arena style game where we sit around and play through tournament style play I would play HA, but since I like the fast speed of TA, I play that instead. If I'm going to play any organized style of tournament, then it's GvG all the way. If I can get my guild together for an organized event, it's going to be GvG because it's a lot more fun IMO. I'm not saying my guildies can't enter the tournament, if they want to they are more than welcome to. All I'm saying is, I won't be in that group and if they do they may miss some GvG time.

I don't know, I guess if there was a strong enough need for a TA tournament it would probably be created by Anet, it's not like we don't all bump into eachother in TA anyways, I just don't need an organized TA tourney is all.

I play TA when I want a less structured environment. A tournament would be counterintuitive to the whole reason why I enjoy TA.

Hm, this would be interesting IMO, I cant guarantee my guild would want to do this, but it looks good to me. And this kind of inspires me...I was basically first thrusted into TA by a guild that always ran balanced groups, and were able to deal with every different build, and cant remember many fights at all I lost with them (this was a long time ago). But anyways, all my ranting is coming to a point. I was thinking about maybe ressurrecting the old days! (If I spelled that wrong, dont feel the need to tell me, I really dont care). Have a good ole straight up balanced on balanced (if anyone is interested we could clarify just what is meant by balanced later) 4v4 fight where skill really is just about the only factor in victory, there are no builds that are designed to counter you, and also would really be nice to get back to that beautiful mesmer on monk action I miss so much when I fight something with say....*cough cough* monks hiding behind NR, an interupt ranger, hex breaker, dis chop shock war, or a shove wild blow dist stab sin. Hehe just messing with my self proclaimed rival Eat :P .

To quote myself from another thread, on another forum, on another topic:

Quote:
I consider build planning and execution a large portion of the umbrella 'player skill' term. Skipping out on that simply skips out on something that makes good guilds good. It isn't actual in-match talent, but it would still be negligent to skip out on it in my opinion.

Well ofcourse JR, TA is a place where there are several different builds fighting each other, some of which are geared to be counters to the builds that are normally found in TA. Also, if you're any smart at all you yourself, even balanced groups, should have a few skills that are dedicated to helping with some of those off the wall builds that would be a counter to you. Skills like wild blow, PD, gale, expel hexes, even enchant/hex remover in general. But the thing is obviously a lot of skills like these have a weak spot vs builds with no enchants, hexes, stances (gale is pretty much good every where though :P). My point being if you try to prepare for everything, it makes you a little stronger at some of those odd ball builds but weaker vs other balanced groups. Personally I have fun playing balanced vs balanced, generally meaning one character with anti melee capabilities (air ele/mez or nec hexer) one devoted for monk shut down, (dom mez) a warrior or thumper, and a monk. You may dissagree but like I said, I think its most fun to be on a level playing field, with both teams having most of the same tools in there build and pure skill of the players determines the victory of the battle.

So yeah, all I meant by my post is that if there are others that have fun playing the way I do, we should do it! I'll give your monk a workout I promise.

Hell I can sign my guild up:
Souls of Hired Nooblets[NooB]

Atm we have the Jade Hall which is also quite good for mimicing an RA map and has more terrain that EMp's Hall... Just a thought.

Well, I think that it's officially died. [TA] itself has disbanded, and seeing as there nothing has really happened...
