<3 QQ, but they have only existed for 2 seasons. If this list is suppose to illustrate which guilds are the best now...then QQ is the better of the two. If it is All Time Best, then length of dominancy has to be taken into account, giving iA the nod.

IMO, QQ hasn't done anything yet. They are too new and haven't proven themselves in the playoffs at all. Maybe in time, but I can't fairly compare a few weeks of solid regular season play to 18 months of ladder domination and playoff wins.

I was comparing them to iA, not EvIL.

It is. Though, iA is awesome in both.

Don't overestimate iA in GvG though...they haven't really proven themselves yet. They have only played 2 seasons and never been in the playoffs. Furthermore they play heavily during Euro times and are only rank 25.

Hmm, no one mention JP guild.

Those JP guild made it to top of the list within first 2 months of the game release in their country after others had been playing for almost a year. Considering the learning curve they were able to caught up with, that is really quite impressive and hardcore. If they were here from the start, then I really wonder who would occupy the tip top of the ladder. Also, it seems that none of the JP guild is able to travel or something, some of them did qualify for most of the final, yet they weren't there... too bad.

In general, I think it is WM. They have played long ago and got success early ( demonstrated at E3 2005), and till now they are still one of best guilds. EvIL is also formed from WM's core members.

The Japanese guilds that made it to the top of the ladder so quickly had been playing the game for over a year. They had it just as long as everyone else. Scarlet Colored Vampires Jpn [ScV] (who were counted under the American region) changed their name to Scarlet Colored Vampires after the game was released in Japan. Several other Japanese guilds had already existed as well, but that one seems to be the only blaringly obvious example.

iQ is good at gimmicking the ladder and relying on one-trick ponies in the playoffs, but that's about it.

I don't see how iA can even be ranked up there for GvG. HA yeah, but I don't care much about HA anyway. However;

I have seen the same thing said about QQ and Te in obs as well. QQ is often seen using Air smiters (and heavily utilized thumpers last season) and other small gimmicks. Te ran the notable "Mindway." iQ ran rspike in game 1 versus EvIL, oflame one night this season, and used thump n smite during the open. All the top guilds depend heavily on gimmicks because they work and are very time efficient. To get in the number of games necessary and to farm enough rating to be at the top, the easiest way is to abuse gimmicks (furthermore, playing gimmicks helps you know how to counter them as well). The giant distinction between these guilds and others at the top of the ladder (who will not be mentioned for flaming purposes) is that they are able to play balanced at an extraordinary level and doing so have great staying power once they get to the top of the ladder/in the playoffs.

iQ (as do Te and QQ) play gimmicks, but they are not limited to so they are not gimmick guilds.

I honestly think it's silly for people to think iA is the best tombs guild ever.

Back in the days when the game first came out when even having a deer was not bad, a wolf was great/excellent, and a tiger was simply amazing people held longer.

sB held for hours, same with Ascalon Electric Company, MS, aV, etc.

pRp was also one of the better tombs guild, though we were later. We held for hours and hours and people knew we were going to win when we went in.

iA is one of the newer additions on this list but imo they aren't as great as the older Tombs guilds. I mean, if you say iA you could say DeeR. We win every time we go in too. It's simply not that hard to win/hold anymore.

Btw this isn't ment as an attack, but a clairifcation as too the wrong information posted earlier by others.

um.. deer could never hold like iA could so don't even try bringing deer into the mix. The reason iA could hold and deer couldnt is because iA players were actually good.

Top guilds:

1. Evil
2. WM
3. Te or Uni (Te has been around for a longer period of time, but if Uni was together for the same time they would have been better.)

Some real old guilds that I remember from the summer of when the game first came out and beyond were Blood Eagle, Negative Zero, Marvel Superheroes, and due to popule demand the Phorn Star Monks. I also remember a smurf guild making it into the top 10 before it got disbanded called Castle Ghayskull, which I found rather humorous.

I think they only have two from Charr (I am teh monk, famous). They may have 4 from iGi so if anything they are more an extension of that...but regardless 3 or 4 doesn't make it the same guild.

tbh, i think holding streaks were much longer in the early days of gw if my memory serves me well.

as for gvg guilds. a year ago i wud have said Eternum Pariah. When you looked at the ladder, they were 1st for so long. Now I would say EvIL, and my reason... they were damn fun to watch.

from [WAR] to [WM], from the Betas up to now, War Machine.

my favorite highlights of their guild: trashing [EP] (even EP used WM's vs pRp) spike meta game back then using their splitting gale warriors, beating LuM playing a 101% counter to their gale warrior build with SKILL and finally bagging a GWWC.

Longevity and Quality PvP gameplay. War Machine is the best guild ever.

for the runner up, ill say Illicit Awakening[iA]. ive witnessed the guild grew and developed, and is now doing well apart from ranger spike. they are not a super guild composed of good players snagged from other good and well known guilds (unsure tho lol), and for that a thumbs up.

Yeah, ah Sai, trolling will get you flamed or banned. IWAY is a noob build, and can be beaten by almost anything, this has been discussed again and again.

I think QQ have the skill to become very good in the near future (not that they aren't already), they just need to do some Playoff matches, and see how they go.

I disagree. iQ is notorious for thumpers, thumpsmite, and gale wars. When was the last time iQ ran a balanced build on the ladder? This is why you see iQ consistently fail in the playoffs. Their tourny strategy is basically to isolate one weakness in an opponent's build, but if this tactic fails then they lose (WM game). It's a valid (and creative)tactic, but not the best display of overall skill.

As far as I know, Te only ran Mindway as a pug/for fun. Even if Te gimmicked all the time, at least they perform in the playoffs. iQ just doesn't.
