Any halfway decent interrupter should be able to target a caster, catch a quick 1s cast then go back to healing in ~2 seconds max. It's not really that hard.

the energy from channeling is just ridiculously good if used right. seed is a must for the ghost/relic runner/whatever. heal party is just too good to not bring with a full heal spec. orison is a nice cheap spammable heal. heal other is amazing with effective channeling. infuse is a must for good spikes and the clutch heals that you just can't spare 3/4sec to cast. veil is too good vs hexes.
Nowadays this infuser bar is kinda bad I think. I used a same kinda bar like 6 month ago, but that time I had insphex on as extra energy management for other & no Hp, but nowadays it's insane to bring Heal other instead of the enpowered kiss or not to meantion the best choice for good players the healing whisper (hard to play with it, but it's decent heal for 5 energy & 1 sec recharge!)

ViM is the only build I can think of with no casters, but Channeling really shines in that situation. For IWAY and Rspike, you should be pushed up far enough to hit an orders necro or monk anyway. But against IWAY you shouldn't have energy problems in the first place. I did say I take both PDrain and Channeling too.

I like Channeling because it's a bit more universal and requires less microing. I mean as far as HA monking goes very few times is there not a situation where I could push-up a bit farther and get 2-3+ energy back for a couple of spells, at very little extra risk to me.

Channeling
Holy Veil

when I'm infusing.

I always run channeling ( supported by ihex ) and never had any serious energy problems in HA. Currently this is the most efficient energy management for a monk imo. But you can choose other skills, its totally up to you and its perfectly fine if you have the energy to perform your role in the team.

SB is good for the Ghost, with all the Psychic Distract Mesmers running around, and Leech Sig has kind of a high recharge I'd prefer Power Drain (More energy too)

Indeed, I also have lots of times where Channeling gets stripped or interrupted.
I usually bring Veil and Ihex (No party), I've tried various things, I tried dropping ihex for party (you just NEED veil for Migraine, lots of those running around), but energy was kinda a problem most of the time, also I think that 1 HP usually covers it.

I love Channeling, it's great against smiteball, or anything balling for that matter, just as long as you stay away from you're teammates (so you don't ball). It's great how it affects pets (e.g. IWAY), and spirits (e.g. Bloodspike).

I just love using Channeling on Altars, I always sit on the edges of the center, cause there are always so many people on it, just sit out of range of aoe damage and in range of Channeling energy, it's great, you spend 5 energy you get 10+ back.

I'd take Channeling over Power Drain anyday.

I agree to take channeling over PD...but its indeed just common sense...

HA meta is just spell-less while it is crowded...so channeling owns. Of course there are situations you wished you had PD and not channeling...so if you have space: take both.

It has nothing to do with being good or bad...its 1) a gamble (spells, NR/TR etc to counter) 2) preference (if you are a good PDer its really valuable) 3) setup of the rest of the team

Channeling.
So you can concentrate on your job - keeping teammates alive, not searching the foes after a spell to interrupt. Anyway I suppose whatever works best for you is the skill to take.

As a monk you should be tabbing through the other team anyway, whenever you have time, to see what's coming. Run pdrain and channeling.

As an infuser I generally keep someone from the opposing team targeted when I'm not healing, so it's not really an issue. It really helps a lot when you can see an ele glyphing up for a spike, or skills being use that might indicate a spike is coming. This, coupled with watching enemy positioning, is what makes a good infuser, not just watching the party window for damage.

I used to run channeling all the time, but i found out i almost never used it, i kept my energy at a constant level with ihex alone. The only times i used it are like in HoH-map, or vs iway ( not funny anymore with ooa though ).
Now, with the 6v6 HA, i dont even think channeling is that usefull anymore.
I've always hated the idea of having to run into the frontline, just to get in the range of a few enemys to trigger off that +2 energy channeling.
With the 6v6 now, i just run drain enchantment instead, better imo.
