Default NightFall Update

Here is the update:

http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Game_updates

I jumped up and almost hit the roof when i saw this:
""Victory is Mine!": this skill is now a targeted Shout that returns 3..7 Energy per Condition. "

So happy

And also the return of the elementalist.

No more dual smite. No more vim. No more iway(haven't seen much lately).

HA is fixed. Finally!!

Best update ever!!!

What did everyone else think of the update?

Nice updat for PvP, only my source for PvE income: Spirit bond, is gone.

But I love how they give us more balth faction. Finally no longer hours of playing to unlock a single skill.

6 Illusion for a 3 second Distortion, with a constant -2 energy loss. Not too bad, still viable as a panic button against adren spike.

A few good changes in there, drain enchantment nerf made me sad, ViM nerf I suppose is good - wasn't a powerful build in 8v8 and in 6v6 it rarely wins. I saw it maybe, 4 times.

I miss farming. ;________; PvE scrub ftw. :3

Vim was never a problem for me to beat. It's just that people spam for it in chat window and also you see the same kind of team in HA over and over again. 90% of HA before the update is Vim/Smite. I wanted variety and original builds. It's a good update and it will definately fix that. I know people will come up with new builds like those when NF comes out, but at least people have to think now. :d

No. Smite is not dead, but now it actually requires thinking as to when you start to spam RoF and Gardian and Air of enchant. Most smiters i've seen just spams it all the time even if the smitee is no where near the enemy.

Interesting update. Odd that Rits were ignored entirely but eh. Elementalists get some buffs.
Anyone else wonder why Soul Barbs is a 5 sec recharge now? Are they promoting SB/RI?
How about adding Rituals to the list of skills affected by Expertise? Oath shot rit spammers a possibility now even with low hp of spirits?
With so many recharge durations reduced, and inspirations energy gains slighty lowered, I wonder how people are going to take advantage of this. BiP in every build to promote spammage maybe? Or maybe not.
Interesting update all in all. One of the better ones in fact in my opinion but, I haven't gone on to test anything yet.

A: BARBS got a buff, not soul barbs
B: They didn't add Rituals to expertise, they were already included. What they did was remove non-ranger stances and shouts, and other skills not specifically listed. Before it was just "non-spell skills".

Just to clear things up

thanks for the clarifications. Havent logged in-game yet(and wont until late tonight) to see the changes myself.
I'm not a hardcore ranger but thought expertise was just attacks, stances, and skills, skills meaning skills that said "skill", so my understanding of Expertise was flawed in the first place then.

So what about Insidious Parasite? it looks retardedly overpowered.
I also think Anet IS going to succeed in making Elementalists viable DPS machines. new Glyph of Elemental Power FTW!
They improved heroes AI! Noes! more heroesway!
three hurrays for the /stuck command!
I'm not sure I quite understand the insignia system. I'll have to check tomorrow.

We could see more ele air spike or E/A starburst since inferno is now way better than flame burst. but it does have a smaller radius. Also the lighning surge doesn't cost exhustion anymore. Finally this skill is usable.

The change to expertise is an interesting one, with the clearest effect being that Rangers won't be able to out-shout Paragons. As expertise existed before, a Ranger could spam single target shouts in a way that a Paragon could never match, and keep up with them in area shouts as well. Now the Ranger has no advantage for targeted shouts (they're about even, the ranger paying the full cost and the paragon paying the full cost and getting ONE energy back).
