Default Changes to Heroes' Ascent 3 October 2006

Changes to Heroes' Ascent 3 October 2006
In lieu of the previously announced special weekend, we've decided to postpone the "Green Drop Weekend" until next week. This week's big news is the conversion of Heroes' Ascent into a 6v6 map. Yes, one of the most popular events will become a permanent element of the PvP game, along with a lot of exciting map changes, too. This will all go live sometime Friday, so stop on by and check it out. Check back next week for news about the "Green Drop Weekend" (which now promises to be even better)!

Ok, we have to start all the critics over again, thanks a lot.

I don't like the change, less space for original builds, it feels like TA/GvG.

Sums it up pretty much.

Wow you deleted two previous threads. Censorship ftw I see. You can agree with mighty anet and their asslickers. The other choice you have is STFU. Nice forums. Nice team. Great community

This change is f'ing bullshit, they are obviously basing this ridiculous change to HA on the 6v6 weekend which saw a HUGE increas in tombs use. But the dumb cnt's at anet believe this increase in popularity was because of the 6v6, the only reason people played during this time was for the double fame. Doesn't take rocket science to work that out, omfg just plain stupid. ><

gg anet i thought u were supposed to attract new customers not drive old ones away ?

I disagree with the change. I think HA should have stayed 8 vs 8, and if anything they should have introduced a new 6 vs 6 arena when they had time to produce the relavent maps. I do like 6 vs 6, but I think Anet has risked too much by making such a drastic change to a gametype with such a large and passionate community.

I am not "licking anets ass", I simply object to filling this forum full of complete trash from whiney twelve year olds. Please, keep the discussion civil, and the thread will stay open.

6v6 is crap, it cripples balanced teams which are supposed to be the point and the backbone of tombs. gg Anet. Looking forward to it and the double green drop weekend. You are so inovative.

How does that follow? Fewer players cripples spike (not enough players for both a clean spike and a good defense) and stupidly defensive builds (not enough players to run a massively redunant backline and still be able to kill anything); I don't see how it does anything to balanced. Unless by "balanced" you mean "rainbow spike"...

Ok, well, lets see... 2 monk backline, and only 4 spaces for creativity. In 6v6 16 skills are left out and that is not a small number my friend because even now in 8v8 1 skill cam make a difference. And it does not cripple spike, Rspike works, Bspike works and even rainbow spike may work. The problem is 6v6 cripples creativity in builds and we all know only balanced builds can be creative. ViM, iway and all other fotms are the same.

Yeh, whats with all the deleting? getting boring tbh, whats the point in having a public forum where peoples views get censored if they are not the same as yours?

1st of all spike won't be gone (blood spike is called spike for some reason when it actually isn't),you can spike with 4 people and make it perfect.
Also, all of you keep saying no more IWAY,VIMWAY,Blood Spike etc. Seriously,do you really have that much problem with it? They're easy to beat, free fame and fast map.
All in all - 6v6 = anet's bad move as everything else they tried to "improve".

No Tombs players want this change, and alot of people have said they are going to quit because of 6v6.

Its hard to see how they can do something SO WRONG and think its a good idea.

We Already have a TA

We just spent the last 2 years making guilds around 8v8 play

There are just so many reasons why this is a bad idea, and it really is going to destroy Tombs for alot of players.

I think Anet needs a better feedback system and maybe we wouldnt get to the stage where half of the pvp community is saying it will stop playing.

I'd be busting you on the same principle (there were some valid arguments in two of those threads) if I hadn't seen some of the BS you've had to deal with in the last hour.

@those complaining about the threadlocks: you missed the show people. Let the mod do his job, even if that means deleting a few good posts so he can consolidate everything to better moderate this discussion.

On Topic: Bad move Anet.

About the new arena topic: Basically, this is no longer HA. Its not the same maps or the same team setup. Its already a new arena.

SO WHY DID YOU DESTROY THE ONE I LIKED???

As I said previously: what will happen after the honeymoon's over? Where will the GvGers, the TA members/RAers/PvEers who asked for this go when they get tired of how HA works?

Answer: Right--back--where--they--came--from! And they'll leave a broken HA intheir wake. this is a case where catering to the masses has drastic short and long term consequences. In the short term, HA guilds will probably split, players will leave.

In the long term: "(says the nubs) my guild is too small to GvG its not fair We're great in HA and we want to compete. pweez make GvG 6v6 like HA so that we can play that too"

Don't think it won't happen GvGers? Thats alright. Just keep in mind: last week I thought Anet knew better than to change HA to 6 man.

As opposed to 3 monks minimum plus at least 1-2 other defensive builds?

Monk backlines will be forced to adjust and evolve. Most prevalent gimmicks will be forced to evolve or die. People will have to devise new builds. Holding spike can no longer dominate. (spike in 321. Good, now put up wards, aegis, fertile, simbi, and seed/SB the hero. K, now we wait for 15 minutes. I'm going to get a drink, brb. GG, have a sigil.). HoH will actually take more skill and be less about holding with an ubar defensive build now.

What exactly is bad about this? You people must be high:

This has got to be the worst decision made by Anet since I've been playing GW. I have no clue what the game designers were thinking since this game is BALANCED AROUND 64 SKILLS, not 48!

Did the "no rank" "impossible to get group" whiners override the people that play tombs day in day out? They cannot seriously believe that the 15 International Districts of HA were there because of 6v6 can they? Umm, I believe 2x fame had something to do with it.

Besides GvG, Tombs is all I play in GW and this is a sad day for me and all of my regular Tombs buddies
