Default gvg matching is it disabled in fun season?

At least 2/3, might even be 3/4, of our losses come from cow, MB, Te and other guilds from the top 40.

There is almost no chance to achieve or maintain a 100 level rank we have held for many seasons in the past when +75% of our matches are - 5 losses, and the rest of the matches are against rank 500 and lower frequently unranked.

i say minus 5 but its some times as much as 8

-5

+10

-------------
estimated -5 per ten games until we get low enough to only lose -2 and win +12 the we go up and down repeat.

if matching is disabled in the fun season, and that is common knowledge then im sry i didnt know that and this would be normal for a fun season.

If not I think anet should look at the matching algorithm? I would rather wait 10 min for a rank near ours, a good match, then match with a rank 7 in 3 seconds to lose 100% of the time in 10- 22min.

The ladder matching system is the same as its always been. If you want a serious thread on matches, it's better to not fill it with whining in the first post.

Well, if your guild had been listed in your profile, I would have looked it up on team-iq to see your average ppg. The closer you are to 0 points per game, the closer you are to your true rating. Which is where you actually belong on the ladder, not where you think you should be. Perhaps the seasons prior where you have finished at or near top 100, you simply beat a lot of scrub teams with 4 henchies and 4 sub-20 PvE players. This season you are being challenged. Think about your games and why you lost them. You have the same access to skills and builds as the guilds that beat you. What did they do that you didn't? Once you figure that out, learn to do what they did.

And just for some perspective: http://www.guild-hall.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28471

That was about a year ago.

I am also reopening this for discussion on the GvG match system. If it deteriorates into a flaming or blatant whining, I'll close it again.

I don't think the matching is disabled, although I do wonder a bit with recent matchups and speed. Faced NUKE within 30 seconds of hitting enter on a <1000 rating team. I have no complaints about playing them, its a lot more fun to play 18 minutes and lose to a top 100 team than squash some <1500 team in 3-5 minutes (although the faction and rating changes are nicer against poorer teams ).

To me, any discussion of matchup system has to go hand in hand with speed of matchups for those near the top of the ladder. I know that while my guild rarely waits more than 3-5 minutes for a match, we also rarely face a team in the top 100 (typically 100-900 range is our opponents, based on last season, not this season), last time I guested for a top 30 guild (a couple months ago), it was a 10-15 minute wait and I know it has been even worse in the past, hence why so many people run/ran on smurfs.

The lower end of the ladder is definitely uneven, and if people are interested, I can explain and support with statistics. The thing is that the lower end of the ladder (<1000, really off the ladder) being uneven is due to discouragement and not playing enough. Problems of such a relatively minor nature shouldn't really matter, since it is the higher end of the ladder that needs to be organized properly, the rest just needs to roughly follow suit and be close enough.

I think the ladder this season is a bit more compact anyways. You can see that most of the teams at the bottom of the ladder are 0-1. Why? Because many of the teams that usually take up the bottom of the ladder are PvE guilds first and are playing Nightfall now and slowly getting into GvG (I know our first GvGs of the season were last night).

Last night, most of our GvGs were against teams that we got a +5 for the win. One at least was on that very annoying Nightfall map with the teleporters. (I hate that map.) I'd much prefer matches against guilds more similarly ranked, but I also don't have the play time anymore to sit around and wait for a GvG match. I'd like matching times in the 5 minute range at the longest. Even if that means more lowbie stomping.

'Well, if your guild had been listed in your profile, I would have looked it up on team-iq to see your average ppg. " weve been top 50, for 2 seasons. SO no way would i post my guild, i can't imagine what the trolls would say if i did, i know i would like it as much as the flame to "not lose" or to not whine when i am not whining in the first place. i guess griefing fellow members is cool now at guildwars guru

either way i think its a problem if you never match with people in with in 100 places of you, in a 60 game season, and i think i think anet needs to fix this problem.

mostly because rolling hech/heroes + leve 13 chars in from a rank 1000 guild for no points, means u never get a good warm up
before they match you with the top 10 mostly and a few top 40 you lose hard.
