People will find a way, for example, I see that were fighting heroway I know its a win so I DC, watch some TV, have a hot pocket, come back to my +1 shiny new fame..... what did I miss?

On the topic of heros, it really is just a matter of common sense. Lets pretend there was a new arena (we shall call it Heroes Arena) This arena is to display your skill by using a full party of Heros and you win 1,000 gold for every win + 5 Heroe fame per win to show how good you are at controlling Heros, you get emotes like Dragons, and Vin Diesles. However you can elect, if you so desire to use a full party of real live players you can!!!!! WOW, so you mean I can farm these cool new emotes with my PVP buddies and I will be a rank 9 heroe bad azz... OF COURSE you can we dont want to exclude people who are too lazy to setup the skills for NPC bots, they shouldnt have to do any extra work to play in this arena. But isnt that a little unfair? Not at all, anyone has the option to play real players or Heroes. Would this title really show that you are good at controlling Heroes? No of course it doesnt because you could have won some of that Hero fame vs a party of full noob humans, so really it proves nothing, its just there in case you feel like selling your account later.

I like Heroes dont get me wrong, but seriously this doesnt make sense, all my fame lately is from farming AI, Im not learning how to PvP, Im not getting better, my builds arent evolving, its just got to be toned down.

Yer but hero's can't take the full blame for that, /roll 100 anyone? Everyone is running stupidly defence builds and half the time you have to use /roll 100 to decide who wins, the other half is just fighting hero's.

Even if they remove hero's they would have to either make HA 8v8 again or nerf paragons heavily. Other wise if they removed hero's all the HA games would be won on /roll 100

perhaps the players in HA at the moment can't deal with the complexity so...in order to simplify it...create a mode to judge whether a team should go on to next map.....which is far less complex than what the current HA is?

HEHE yes it is entirely stupid, but I was thinking along the lines of the way leechers farm factions in ABs and how that was considered abusive (AFK farming) Its already been done.

Except you generally have to do something to win in HA. Ok you can get a match against a terrible team and go AFK to let your team deal with it if you want to be an ass, but you can do that already. Just say you're kitchens on fire or the pizza guy just turned up or something!

I am relatively new to HA though have watched and learned from talking to other HA players. I know I am not the best there is but can hold my own. I have no problems with limiting the number of heroes that can be in the group. It is a bit crazy that you can have a team of 1 human and the rest either heroes or henchies.

Though on the same hand the other day a R5 guildie and I went into HA with some heroes and we did extremely well. We were not running a SF build but did have a human ele and a hero ele. We never lost in UW and won a handful of Broken Tower maps. We were able to beat 5 groups of full human players in UW.

Though I did come across a few well known guilds that only had two real players and the rest heroes. I do not remember the names of all of them but I do remember at least 2 guilds. I will not name them to prevent a flame war though if pressed I can name them, though not the names of the real people as I did not really pay to much attention to that.

In the past I tried on multiple occasions to get into a real group but was never successful. Even when I tried to form a group on my own no one wanted to join as I was unranked. That is just crazy and I was not going to farm fame using the FoTM builds then because I found them to be extremely boring. So with the addition of heroes in HA it makes it more accessible for me.

I know what people are talking about that HA is not supposed to be humans fighting AI. I can agree with this and have no arguments from me. I have done RA and TA to the point of being bored with them so heroes makes it a little bit easier for me to get into HA.

I can see only allowing 2 heroes to be in a group though this is a bit much even then with only 6 people in the party. Though me stating that will most likely cause me to sit for hours on end hoping to get a group once again. During the time I have been doing HA with a few friends and heroes it was extremely fun and I wish to continue doing HA.

You call never losing in UW and winning some Broken towers extremely good :P

And groups are going up again, try being a RaO thumper a monk or a para.
I hardly see any Heroways anymore.

Ok maybe I should have worded it better. No it is not extremely good. I should have said we did poorly as we did not get to some of the higher maps. What I was saying was good was beating some known HA groups in UW.

Usually we would come across a Paragonway team and get stuck there. I am still learning and will do better when we can get more real people in the group most likely.

I have been reading the threads in here for a long time and I thank those who post in here as I feel I have learned a good deal. I was just trying to say in my previous post that with heroes in HA it is a bit crazy as to what it should be. I just went off into some strange tangents in the post.

So to sum it all up limit the number of heroes in a group thus forcing people to use real people.

Knowing the theory really does count for a lot.

If you watch observer mode, learn the strategies and at least copy people's bars (understanding why they work often comes later), you'd be a lot better off starting out than some mending wammo who just came from PvE, has no clue how to play any map past underworld (other than kill stuff = good).

I know that finding or forming groups can be a pain in the ass, and trust me, that won't change when you hit rank 3, or 6, or 9. Your expectations will go up over time and pugs will fail to meet them 90% of the time. The key is getting into a good PvP guild, or finding enough people you like to fill up your friend list and pull people from there when making a group. (Which is, effectively, same thing as a guild)

And playing with heroes isn't going to help you any. If you have a r5 guildy, why not find 4 more r5, or r3, or even unranked guildies and learn to play together?

Very good suggestions Alleji. The guild I am in is pretty much entirely PvE. I have found friendships with them all and do not want to leave. I have tried to get more of them into PvP but no luck.

Do not want to hijack the thread so that is enough of that. Please ANet limit the number of heroes in HA. That should mean a lot coming from someone who is R1 and not in a HA guild, though probably not.

About heroways, I think this "problem" is slowly fixing itself, maybe at the end Arenanet do nothing.

I'd cry if I got a Vin Diesel emote. One question though, shirt on or off?

Off of course.

@ slimreb:
Heroes did make HA much more accessible to you, but there are other ways of doing it, that do not involve drastic changes to core principles in HA.
