Default NF Adaptable Build

http://gwshack.us/9daf9

perhaps the new face of the balanced builds in NF. it can split fairly well, and can withstand quite a bit of pressure at the flagstand too. the dervish chucker simply keeps the two enchantments up, and spam the spear attacks to generate some pretty decent pressure. the mesmers provide spike assistance as well as some e-denial and shutdown.

all in all, the build is not particularly strong in any one area, but its adaptability makes up for it.

edit: build updated

I don't like edenial with motivation paragons going around. So I would think about replacing feedback. I like your D/P very innovative.

Yeah i like the derv aswell, throw a superior into mysticism. That way ur imbue heals for 50% of ur health and Heart Of Fury lasts for 20+ seconds leave only a very short while where u arnt attacking 33% faster. Pack a few +10 Health runes on top of that and i reckon itll be alot more effective. my 2 cents

Yes, but you also have less health, so the extra 6% is not gonna do much good. You say +10hp runes, but that's not gonna make up for it.
Also, 9 seconds out fo 30 is only a short while, but 11 is not? you're sacrificing 75 hp for 2 seconds extra here, because the bonus from imbune is negated by the health loss. I don't think it's worth it.

to be fair, the dervish chucker is not my idea. i believe [BG] runs one of these buggers to great effect.

anyways, i've changed the build. instead of relying on spirit of failure for anti-melee, i've opted to use triple aegis chaining instead. reason being that there is very little hexes in the build, and spirit of failure will get easily removed.

Drop mysticism from 14 to 12 and increase wind prayers from 4 to 9. The dervish should have 675 health (505 + 60 (spear and shield) + 50 (sup vigor) + 40 (armor insignias) + 20 (vitae runes)). At this level of maximum health, imbue heals for 277 at 12 mysticism. If you have any morale boost this increases obviously. 14 mysticism provides no extra benefit for energy over what 12 has to offer, so having it at 14 only allows imbue to heal for 23 extra health. 13 mysticism heals for 297 health btw.
2 less seconds on heart of fury is also marginal.

Whereas, 9 wind prayers boosts the cripple duration from 6 to 10 seconds. Well worth it imo.

Alternatively, 13 mysticism and 7 wind prayers is a decent spread too and gives a 9 second cripple duration.

Perhaps the build has been changed since you viewed it, but the dom mesmer's function appears to be more about assisting with armor ignoring damage on spikes and diversioning skills.

This build lacks a motivation paragon, which places it at a disadvantage.

Agreed, also I don't see the purpose of Barbed + Blazing Spear in there on the Dervish, apart from perhaps the occasional cover on Cripple.

I'd say the Ebon Dust Aura Dervish is probably better. Why not use Aggressive Refrain for a permanent speed boost if you combine with "Go For The Eyes!" to give your Warriors a buff as well?

well, barbed and blazing spear can be spammed almost constantly with the IAS, which means that the dervish can spread at least bleeding consistently.

the ebon dust aura idea is pretty neat, but i feel that it will take away too much spiking power from the build.

of course, i won't really know how well it works until i try it.

Hm I don't remember who ran it but it was definately someone in the top10 right now. Not sure about everything he used on the spike, but there was a Wild Blow. This is particularily dangerous on a Mo/A who usually feels safe in his Dark Escape.

your warriors are pretty standard spikers, personally I would remove heal sig for bull's strike or something and count on the monks for healing

whats the point of the dervish chuckler? condition spammer? as an only condition spammer it isnt too effective, especially without some paragorn backup, blazing/crippling anthem etc

why dont your mesmer carry e-burn along with surge? and why not bring shame as well? it works wonders on monks, especially when you can cover it with wastel's demise... perhaps bring another cover hex as well somewhere. also, inspire enchantment is such a bad skill, for energy bring drain, for damage shatter as your first mesmer has... and I'd probably drop the aegis from your mesmers are you wont have enough room...

since your monks dont have CoP you should switch mend condition to ailment. and also, your only hex removal in your entire build is 2 Blights... either your monks or mesmers should bring inspire hex or something...

as for your runner, it cant kill the other runner nor snare it, wtf... a good runner will just kill your runner off and force you to split 1 guy to res the runner or lose moral boost...
