paper, scissors, rock.
GvG as as see it, is not about builds made with steroids, the only problem i see ( if there is such a problem not really sure about it ) with the new iway as it is called, is the fire map, and up to some extend jade map, maps that allow to little tactic discussion , shame, since Tactics at GvG plays a major role, unlike at another arenas at the game.

Yesterday, our guild decided to try out GvG.
Guess what? The first opponent we faced was an vimiway team.
Iway is making a comeback!!!

Oh Noes!!!

The first time I saw being run I thought it was crap. I can't remember who it was (it was a guild in the top 40 anyway), but as I followed their matches on obs mode they just kept losing. Then I saw Savios running it and it was a different story.

I haven't played the new IWAY with paragons, but people tend to underestimate OoV. OoV (besides being a lot of additional damage) is really the main source of healing for IWAY, far more than a few pips of regen. This became very evident when tombs IWAY teams started dropping OoV or OoA. The build was much more aggressive, but also was tremendously easier to train and pressure out warriors. I would even make the arguement that versus OoV, the backline should be your primary target, but OoA shifted the best way of beating IWAY to killing the warriors.

I'm not saying they thought of it, just that they're using it.
Exorsus Nox [Nox] a former smurf of Clan Detained was the first to run the build. It was then copied by [BRB] and now [Naut].

As for the individual characters, the first team I saw running the Steady Stance warriors was SNA on the first or second night of Nightfall. Their version was an axe I think. The D/N orders spam was originally made by whatever was left of Last Pride in early November. Nu then stole the build and made it a little nastier using OoA instead of OoV and with more healing power. My guess though is that Nox made the runner independant of EviL and Nu.

Yes, it was a pretty effective build taking advantage of the low warrior hate most guilds use in this current metagame. Obviously as some guilds were using next to nothing vs warriors the games lasted about 5 minutes or so.

It was a fun build to play that's for sure

People, Including myself, that run monks with paragons pre - update are probably still wasting their nrg like the paragons are there. Give them some time and use aegis chain. (if u can fit it in that is. imo u dont need paragons anymore so ya...)

Love the comparison!

Iway, blood spike, fun stuff comming back. The reason teams lost to it is because no one expects it. It'll blow over soon seeing how teams are expecting it now and preparing themselves. But grats at them having their 15 minutes.

Do svidaniya!

Faced 3 guilds tonight running this, ranging from r200 to r400, we beat all 3 in under 5 minutes.

Aegis chain > iway

There are probably guilds who do run it effective, but those we faced didnt seem to know what they were doing.

Well we saw 4 warriors running at our monks and our Bsurge was playing on laptop and he wasnt playing very good well we were running a 5/2/1 (main team, gank team, flag runner) we got owned by the warriors buffed by paragons. The gank team was doing great bodyguard both knights and most archers down at 4 mins. I decide to push a flag around back like I planned the other team didnt see me and we got a boost (there flagger was like 60d or sumthing :P). We were pushed back to our lord and the gank team was on the other teams lord at like 8 at this time we ressed at our shrine. The monks ran straight to the lord and npcs. Well the other team says "shit the guild lord is dieing" and decides to run out the front by the time they got halfway there gg guild lord down.

This story reminds me that iway sucks and will always suck. Seriously whoever runs iway just alt+f4 please and don't waste the other teams time unless you can actualy run it effectivly. (excluding math who got rolled by touchies i will never forget that :P)

You forgot to add, even though it's totally outdated and nobody wants it anymore.

It's one of those it works verse people who aren't prepared / expecting it / bad and requires decent players for it to work. I haven't really seen anyone awesome lose to a badly played version so it isn't exactly imba.... just strong.
