Default Need new tools for Guild management

I would like to open this tread and ask what kind of tools do you think we need for GVG.
One that is missing right now is for ppl to find guilds and guilds to find ppl.
You have around 5000 guild that play gvg. In each say 30 ppl at list => 15000 active gvg ppl.
I think Anet would love to double it.

Getting into the top 50 or top 100 or top 300 (which ever number fits you) will always be based on being known and friends that invite you cause you're very good.

But most of the players and guilds need a tool to help them find each other.
Right now all they can do is hang around HA/RA/TA and ask ppl which can work for 100 ppl game but not for 10k+ ppl game.
Right now there is no mechanism that can link guilds and players.
The guilds are missing players therefore they do not gvg much and the players are without guilds therefore they do not gvg and eventually loose interest in the game.

Now let me suggest a simple tool for linking the two. ANET can come with much better tools, cause they have ppl dedicated to the task:
Have a guild board. each guild who is looking for ppl can require certain requirements (profile) from the requested player, and will get a list of the players that fit that are looking for a guild and fit that profile.profile example:
hero rank: 4
glad rank: 2 (optional)
area: eu
min day per week: 3
characters: ranger / warrior
character builds: rao / steady / yaa
special requirements:
- have played in 1000+ guild before.
- Time of play 9pm UK time
- Sunday 9:00 pm - mandatory

Each player that would like to join a guild, can put his profile and see all guild requirements (no reference to the guild, just the guild rank). He then can respond to each by providing his profile and push "request".

a guild that got several profiles, can choose to guest invite any of the players.

I would also add a gvg profile statistics for each player: a gvg rank (according to the gvg games he played) the number of games he played, ...

Team iQ's Guild recruitment thread does that pretty much :

http://www.team-iq.net/forums/showthread.php?tid=726

over 120 000 views already, and quite a lot of guilds needing new players (pretty much at least 1 post every day).

don't realy think Anet needs to add every single detail of community support to the game itself, otherwise, forums would become quite useless ...

Since you went and just copied pasted what you in another thread I will do the same.
Um you can go to team-iq.com and teamquitter.com and guild-hall.net guilds post the exact requirements they are looking for there so why should Anet have to do it because some people might be to lazy to click a few buttons on the web browsers? Lets not forget there is a recruitement thread on here also that lets PEOPLE not Guilds put themselves out there.

Altough I find it hard to implement, a player/account profile with all kind of statistcs, browseable in the site, just like the guilds evolution, would be interesting.

2 comments on that :
1. How many of the active 15k gvg ppl know of those sites ? 2k ? 1k ? 200 ? not event that.
2. I went to the sites you talked about:
- one is i dont know what, but did not event find "with a few clicks as you described" even something that relates to GW.
- second is a guild site, so has nothing to do with what we need.
- third I looked at the menu and saw no reference to a tool that will help guild get ppl or ppl find guild.

to summarize: The name of the game is: G U I L D wars. Yet it lack any tools in that area. If Anet will fail to come out with appropriate tooks, other companies will and once they do, GW will be left out. Now I suggest Anet will start to work on it, they are looking for features that will help them resell their game to exisiting players. This is one of those features.

well, so why not just promote those recruitment threads a bit more to make the larger audience aware of them ? taken from iQ's forum : We currently have 2,603 members registered. Not that bad huh, and that's just iQ's webpage.

if you didn't find anything related with guildwars on iQ's webpage after a few clicks, you kind of suck at clicking i gave you a direct link to the recruitment thread.
What's wrong with guild sites ? both iQ and QQ have an active pvp-focused forum community, and i guess it's that kind of ppl you wanna reach when recruiting for a gvg guild...

Well, Tombs used to be the place where you met new people and formed guilds, but since that got bent over and raped up the ass, yeah I understand what you're saying.

Thanks,

iQ's forums were originally intended to be for high-end GvG discussion, but when the site was spread around, the actual content became very watered down. However, the recruitment thread still retains the purpose of finding members for mid-level guilds and not quite the bottom of the GvG world. The players just getting into GvG may not be aware of the sites, but the great majority of players who have been GvGing for a while are aware of most of the major forums. The assumption is that once you begin to get more serious, you'll get linked to the forums eventually and they'll be able to aid your climb in the GvG world. As you've expressed, it's not a perfect system, but for most mid-level GvGers, it works out quite nicely.

I agree that the game would benefit with the implementation of guild recruitment tools. Two neglected key concepts: Guilds look for players; players lookfor guilds. The current system is non-existant. From my observations, it seems alot of recruitment is driven by social networking and advertisments in the chat channels. Without an appropriate game mechanic to support this area of guild management, it can result in a frenzy of frustration, lack of accessibility and wasting time. I feel a system similar to electronic job applications is neccessary and would clearly benefit the community.

Why should ArenaNet's customers turn to a 3rd party when it would be sensible and convienient for these services to exist inside the game. It has been suggested that people are just lazy by not using these resources but how many players actually know about them? Even those that have been listed were not particulary well presented or easily useable; mere bulletin boards. How are they even maintained?

It would be convenient for a guild tool management considering that not everyone knows about which guilds are recruiting on what forums etc... Would probably save a fair amount of time and help newer pvpers especially.

Default saved guild battles

Another tool/feature I would like to see is the ability to see my guild battle on my computer for observing later. Right now you can observe only the last guild battle. If you want to analyze more than one fight or you do more than one in a session, you are not able to watch all of them later.
It will be nice if Anet would set a configuration flag to "save your guild battles". When this flag is set, the battles will be saved on the local machines and you will be able to observe them in the observe window

Theres only one problem, this wont happen cause Anet has a tendency to waste their time implementing things in the game that are pointless and noone cares about. This is a great idea, i'd love to have a system like this but I know it will never happen. If in the event that it does it wont be for a VERY long time, look how long it took to put in the party search system, they've had people complaining about that since 05.
