Lol, I still don't agree with that. Yeah it may cause some pressure, but we never take a flag and well...we don't lose alot....

Are you facing teams that don't suck? Because when I face teams that don't suck, it's quite important because it's an advantage for your team if you cap it, and a disadvantage if you don't. If you're playing to win, you want every advantage possible, and your opponent to have no advantage.

But, you're probably right. The DPS of a Sword Warrior/Obelisk on Brawler's Pit isn't scary at all. Wait a minute... Why do people kite Warriors again?

Hell seeing as how I was in OoOo, we definatly had our share of decent opponents, and it's TA anyway, so I can't say much about teams not from a dedicated guild.

The obelisk can tip the scale of a close match. At the beginning of the fire obelisk map Like So is always like 'ok guys someone grab the flag and take the stair route' and no one does. I prefer winning with the other team having the advantage of a capped obelisk and a lvl 13 pet being on our team.

Enjoying overcoming obstacles is one thing particualarly on match 11 or 21 or 31 etc., but purposely gimping your team by allowing the opposing to hold the obelisk the entire match and running a lvl 13 pet would definately cause me to rage if a match was lost that otherwise should have been won. Does your guild play GvG matches and completely ignore flag running simply because you want to overcome the advantage of the opposing team receiving morale boosts and recharged rez sigs every two minutes?

When I was in [Eat] we would, as a tradition, purposely gimp ourselves after we had finished a run in TA (on match (10*x)+1) by having everyone on our team remove their armor, the game still allowed this at that point in time, and fight naked. Each player lost max energy, attribute runes, a pip or two of energy regeneration with warriors being an exception, and of course took a lot more damage from attacks and elementalist spells. Most of the time we lost flawlessly of course while amusing the other team. Sometimes we managed to get a kill or two. On two instances, however, we beat the other team. It really taught the players a lot about how to avoid as much damage as possible and managing their energy even more carefully. It was intended as a learning tool to make us stronger players for our GvG matches.

Of course, our common excuse after losing one of those traditional matches was:

- We were naked.

TA is certainly much more casual than GvG =/

but yeah.. most of the time we don't bother with the obelisk. It's a very minor gimp, and after about 30 seconds if the match looks so close that we need the obelisk pressure off, we'll work with it. If you think about it though, the team that tries to work the obelisk more is at a disadvantage having one player run flags back and forth. The other team usually takes so much more pressure during the 'however many' seconds of 3v4, the obelisk doesn't come anywhere near compensating.

as for the pet .. it had great synergy with our dual necro build.

- We have a level 13 pet. Wait, nevermind.. it leveled to 14 in this match.
