Like Divine said just monk stomping is not a good idea in most cases.
I've been in them, not very fun. When you have something like 2 very evenly matched balanced teams, generally games can go on for a while. When neither warrior can do anything and neither monk can really do anything because of shutdown, and the people all know how to deal with shutdown, it becomes a long battle of forcing a mistake.

I guess I just dont see many good balanced groups now days, I'm not saying people dont run them, but like all the good guilds are running NR/Tranq or *cough cough* iway ( [TA] ) :P. So I beg of you! Other good guilds...start doing some balanced groups .

ROFL. Yea, IWAY is a pretty sweet build to run in TA just for kicks. The thing is that noone is expecting it, and most teams just panic when they get three warriors on them with a bunch of spirits messing with them also. Fun stuff.

Me and some friends actually were the first (that I know of) to run IWAY in TA, we were basically bored and decided to go screw around a little. Think it was me, Program, Jermaine, and Eddy heals or something. Yea but we had some good times getting 20+ consec with that.

No, but we still run balanced quite a bit. We've been experimenting with a lot of builds, but when we really wanna just practice, test our skills, and get some glad points, balanced is the way to go. We also do a more casual balanced, basically, you get four people, designate melee hate, caster hate, melee, and monk, and then let people choose their own builds.

Yeah lol the sad thing is I cant knock it too much, you beat me once (allthough I was running with people I had never been with mind you!). Hm...I'm afraid this thread is starting to change from taking TA as a serious form of PvP to casual chit chat of the TAers.

I had a strong desire to make a post in this thread simply saying "your mom," but I guess I've held out on that temptation.

Quite frankly, I'm pretty surprised [ROFL] got very many mentions since we don't really TA as a guild a whole lot anymore, but with Logan's growing enthusiasm for it this may very well change.

Holy mother of god! Kool only said "your mom" in one of two sentences! You're slippin kid...

This is kinda getting to be a TA clique chit-chat, but it's nice. While we're all here, maybe we could rally together for a TA reward system other than a glad title.

(sorry for the further derailment of this thread)

[Edit] to get rid of that GO RED ENGINE crap.

/signed for glad title emotes

And umm... There has to be a panda... preferably a confused panda in a dealer jacket with a mine strapped to his back.

Also, /signed for a TA BTV (aka observer mode), except I have no clue how they would ever make it work.

Thanks all for recognizing us, i'm glad there is a thread where all the talented TA players and chat off the clock when they aren't pwning in TA. As for ROFL we haven't TA'd much at all and thanks to Logan we got to TA again, i'm glad TA is running random builds to just play for fun like IWAY, as for balance builds it's always nice to play against balance vs balance to see how the skill vs skill outcomes too. As for today we have been experimenting too, more like i decided to only TA if i got to play what i wanted :P I was the R/W sword warrior with no elite. had a fun fight against [TA] for my first time personally. they didn't like my wild blow =\ but good times ended up quiting with 30 consecutive wins, with a screenshot.

sorry went off a tangent, props to [Eat] with bringing a new metagame to TA with the nr build, probably the only guild i know that can run it properly.

Er, excuse us for taking over this thread but someone posted on our guild forums and I had to come look I'm surprised ROFL was mentioned at all as well, considering we never TA much anymore, at least not our core players anyway, until recently like 2 days ago because a handful of our players are on hiatus, so no GvG for us

Bringing the subject 'round back though, when I used to TA a lot, I remember getting beaten by [DBD] and [Fish] whenever we played them. I think maybe [Eat] too, but I don't quite remember. (Edit: I remember! [SCC] used to TA a lot too; that's how I came to know them But they don't do it much anymore >.<) However, this was after the release of Factions... Quite frankly, before Factions, TA was such a no-brainer that we got 30-50 wins without really ever trying, and only stopped because we always do breaks in between runs. I don't really remember having trouble with any guild groups, as there weren't many who did TA that consistently - except for [FamE] but they gave us no problems :P I believe balanced builds were only the really type of build dominating TA pre-Factions, and to beat other teams it was more skill than build. Now the scale is tipped, in which case, if you're unprepared for it, build > skill. Factions really alternated the TA metagame, as sno said, because now there's a lot more types of builds to get used to. Extremely stressful builds like nr/tranq and hex/degen, which are quite effective counters to the old school cookie-cutter balanced builds. To win TA now, teams have to really understand the new additions to the metagame, and cater their build to be able to take on another plethora of builds in mind.

Anyways, /endrant! *Gets back to sleep*

i remember a long long long time ago messing around in TA, and we just had 4 iway warriors, but one of the guildies took the wrong skill... so we had 3 iway warriors, and an I will survive warrior :\.

The best team I've faced in TA by far is Fish. Although I've only faced them a couple of time, and not nearlly as many times as Eat, but Fish were really good. I've not really been troubled by QQ in TA, though I doubt they take it seriously

Hahaha, you can only play those outdated and outmoded builds? Get with the times, man! Three rit doom spike is the new metagame.

Dude this thread is completely pointless, how can anyone of you seriously gauge who is dominating anything in TA. As there is no definitive way to actually “see” or “statically gauge” who is dominating anything.

This thread and the posts in it are gauged off speculation and assumption, I mean I have read some posts here commenting that certain people haven't even played against some of the people they are rating and are simply going off he said she said.

I mean we got one guy here who is trying to post who he thinks are the good TA guilds from memory.

Let me tell you this I have met quite a few guilds one going by the guild Tag of EVIL not (last pride). Who claimed they were the best TA guild in the Europe region.

I am not saying these guilds aren't good but things like this really have to be taken with a pinch of salt. Until Arena net feels like releasing a ladder of some sort or some type announcement scheme like they have for HA except for the Ta arenas. For instance when a Guild gets to the 20-30 Wins mark they get a shout out or something, and said Guild is doing it consistently then that would be a good way to "accurately" turn around and say now that’s a good Team arenas guild.

Don't be ridiculous. If you play TA a lot like these guys, then you are going to learn to recognise the tags of guilds you frequently meet and have good games against. No it's not a definitive ladder, but it's as close as you can get to it.

While I was amused at the start of your practical joke of directing some random person that was looking for guild my way, I had to set myself to Do Not Disturb after 5 consecutive PMs of "Can I join?" followed by my explanation of the joke itself to what seemed to be a 10 year old kid followed by "Can we be friends?". Later in [Eat]'s TA run, I had forgotten I was set to DnD and PMed both Vindexus and someone from [Vis] asking questions about our match. /doh

I was trying to ask Vindexus why he left the match early (though the outcome was determined) as I suspected that he felt insulted somehow as the very skilled warrior player that he is being hit by a monk with a fellblade to build adrenaline quickly to spam watch yourself on my team.

No squealing last night from me in TA at least since I got to play with my guildmates and we only lost one match which was to [ROFL], but we beat them the first and third matches. Definately some interesting mind games going on each match between the players and the matches were definately determined highly on positioning and attempting to outthink your opponent. This is exactly why I like to play TA when not GvGing and never play HA anymore, because HA never really seems to have this element of needing to outthink your opponents. After the loss in match 2 of ROFL v Eat, I asked Sno to immediately re-enter in hopes of facing ROFL again cause the matches were so good.

From the matches with [ROFL], my decision has been made that our previous Mo/Me build is better against the teams that matter than the Mo/W build I was using. The number of 2 thumper teams is still so high though and against those teams, distortion is basically a near useless skill on the monk bar due to 4 melee attackers

We have been running the NR build for two full months now (this was before any type of NR build became popular in HA). While we do have 4 other TA builds that we like to play (one of which is a balanced), we get the most enjoyment from running the NR build since we run balanced in GvG and the NR build features two bow rangers which we at [Eat] really like.

For some reason though, we have started to come under a lot of hate in arenas. Last night, about 40% of our matches had after match hate being thrown at us including anything from claims that we were farming, running what everyone else was running (in 28 TA matches last night we came across only one other team that ran NR I think), that we were running something gimmicky, that our build is bad (which always puzzles me how a team can state this after losing), or that it was a bad game. I bet it is the Mo/W that really pushes teams over the edge with rage when they get beat, since I believe that many skilled players in this game have a firm opinion that they should never lose to a team in arenas with a Mo/W using bonneti's defense.

I would have to see the entire list of skills to be sure, but I am fairly certain that this build would be improved by using an elite. [Eat] is very happy to see an entire character in a build designed specifically to counter our NR build.
