well I gotta say that most of the games my guild play aren't limited to 4-5 mins afairs. Its variable depending on the enmies build.

Vod isn't uncommon against good teams and sometimes we get rolled.... never had a string of 4-5 min games for long though.

I will say this though... LST the guild I play for is a mid level guild with about 3-4 players that could play rank 50. We hover in rank 200-300 land so for me to say I'm dissapointed with high level opponents is a biggy. I'm no longer concerned if it says we are playing a rank 10+ guild as we can still win and tbh I don't like that. Aspiration is a key part of willing to play.. I aspire to play at higher levels and it bothers me when we win against a guild that 'should' beat us.

I'm looking forward to the new mini tounies as I hope it makes a differance. I know over time the new system will rate guilds as they should be BUT thats a long term game right there isn't it.. who is willing to look that far ahead? Who wants to play for that long and then find out its not worth it because the system is bad.

Guess time will tell.

I'm really wondering how they will time the tournaments so that Guilds in all time zones will be able to GvG in them. I think this is going to be a pretty tough thing to do. We're a fairly large Guild across NZ & Australian time zones only and even then, have trouble trying to include all of our members who want to GvG. We GVG usually at least three nights a week and will sometimes have two teams running at different times, just to cover the the time zone differences but even then some of our later players miss out.

My guess is they dont know yet, and are putting it off until they can work out how to do it.

One thing.

I agree with the point Wasteland Squidget makes about half the teams of any Tournament have to lose and therefore lose a large portion of rating and potentially being rated under teams they are better than.

*However the plus side is the Winning teams will find their True Rating much quicker.*

The losing teams then only have to go back to ladder play get some quick and easy +3's, try improving their game and hit back next tournament with better play moving them up into the upper section of the ladder.

On another related note, a simple fix for Guilds trying to qualify for money tournaments with only ladder wins is to make a requirement of playing 'x' amount of tourneys on the way. The cream will surely rise to the top.

Usually on the ladder, you could press 'b' and know who your opponents for the night would be, and now it's very hard to get the matches that you're looking forward to. All of this leads to a whole lot of four minute matches. Even if you like to play the game, as I'm sure we all do, this ladder does not have the ideal conditions to do so, and it's just strange that a lot of teams are playing more than ever.
Well, you kind of answer your own question, Tommy. Half the reason we've played so many matches this season is we wind up playing multiple 4 minute matches, so our time constraints (generally anywhere from 5-9 cst) aren't as problematic when you're going through loads of guilds that you'd normally never see.
