Ever think some of these things might actually be overpowered or bad for the game. In addition some things were just terrible ideas to begin with and shouldn't be in the game at all, since they can't remove skills they have to nerf them into oblivion. A great example of a skill like this is signet of mystic wraith. If this skill is ever good you get to run into obnoxious 6 or 8 monk builds that attempt to spike with it. They are miserable to play against because even if they can never kill any of you it takes forever to break their defenses.

IWAY was overpowered. Dual orders and heal party with infinite range were overpowered. Stacking IAS was severely overpowered. IWAY having infinite range was too good. The old fear me that IWAY used to use was overpowered (seriously, it was originally agro bubble range.)

Look at some of the things slated for nerf in the test patch. Dom mesmers being better spikers and AoE than eles is silly. Critical chop is crazy good. E.Surge is better than most ele AoE. B.Surge is insanely good.

Syra dont go raging at me, but i agree SP is over powered, critical chop not really, compared to the dmg output and pressure a dervish and a thumper can give, a warrior really isnt that good. Mending touch is ok as it is, energy surge is not over powered, it's already just a energy burn with aoe.

If there's a video component to this, it's not showing up for me. Any ideas?

Nah that's not the one I meant. It was on the Anapalytic Shock [nuts] forum, but they seem to have gotten a new forum since then.

Today we played the ``Zergway`` with our guild in HA. And when we won and someone from the opposing team said ´´All you want to do is bring IWAY back´´
I though that the build we are running is .. well ofcourse its copied, we didnt invented it, but i mean the build we are using is lame to run?. We are lamers course we are playing that build (zergway) because , I dont know why.
My question is. Im trying to make this understandable. Is running someone elses build lame is it bad thing to do, will people hate me because i get fame with it? What is the honorable way to win your opponent? is it making your totally own build and try to win with it , but it itsn very likely bacause some stupid skills like jagged bones+ soulreaping and steady stance + fear me.
What is the honorable way to win. yeah yeah laugh that HA is a joke but please answer me.

Proof that IWAY was ingenious:

That everyone today tags their latest gimmick with the suffix " _way".

My view on this is that ANET overnerfed the good things in the last metagame. It started to seem like getting right somewhere around mid august last year... there was solid skill balance, there was a good core of metagame builds, then anet buffed the mind(x) spells along with other ones and the meta shifted. THis was ok. Then Nightfall cameout. With so many things overpowered by nature (Searing flames..., Blinding Surge, spiritual pain) that in January i near gaveup this game when they didn't release a skill rebalance after wintersday ended. Heres some changes that would need to effect in order to restore the metagame balance...

-Mesmer: all aoe type spells damage reduced by 15-20%
-Elementalist spells: Strong "crippling" condition effect spells need to cost at least 10 energy (they infact did this), and all aoe-dot spells need to see a 50% increase in damage area. A class who is supposed to do damage but has only a small set of skills that actually do is sad...

-Ritualist: in order to make this into a monk (anet's intentions), add to Spawning power: "Restoration magic spells you cast heal for additional 3 health for each rank in Spawning Power

-Dervish: 20% damage reduction all across the board, or...

-Warrior: increase base armor by 20

-Rangers are fine if the armor increase is done to warriors.

-Assassins are ok

-Paragons: Indended to be a seconadary frontline character, these need their damage increased in some way, attack speed probably best (match to a sword), they also need the +20 vs physical (the thing that makes a target hard)

I want to see that old Utopian metagame (8/8/06) we once had, but that will never happen.

Rits are the best healers in the game, unfortunantly they don't do prot nearly aswell as a monk, that is the problem.

Izzy talked about this while I was up there. He said he still has the PMs about when he first mentioned the build to someone and their response (not sure who the someone was, but it could have been Te). Bascially he comes up with the build for some reason or another and PMs it to someone else. The someone else runs it for a while and PMs back that its nice and simple and they are going to keep running it because it keeps on winning. Later he gets another PM from the same person saying now they are seeing other people running it as well.

So while someone else may have run it before Izzy told the build to someone else, it really didn't start proliferating until then.

That would be because kestrel is a silly person. Also, killing him is like having sex with madonna, which I don't think can be said of anyone else in a guild of QQ's caliber.

On a substantive note, I don't think paragon damage should be buffed, Although you may be reading into intent and whatnot, I rather like the shout and chant support character we have.

Aw...I always get excited when I see an Ensign post but I'm often let down when they're only a quick quip.

Cruel spear is amazing, and I try to sneak it onto bars when I'm guesting on a paragon.

Well I wouldn't call Cruel Spear amazing, but it's a solid enough elite. Top-flight+damage pushes it well over 100 on a critical, the Deep Wound missing occasionally on spikes isn't a big deal since you usually have redundant Deep Wounds on spike. But your target is knocked down (or snared) pretty often, so you're either guaranteed the Deep Wound, or your Warriors are getting a ton of auto-crits, so it works out either way. I'd be happy to drop it for something really sweet but there's nothing that impressive in Paragon TBH.

Peace,
-CxE
