Hundred blades was never really good. Even with the suggestions to automatically give it +13 damage still made it kinda blah in comparison to other options and that was before ch2 was released. I really think that skills should be usable, especially elietes, but hundred blades has been left so dumbed down for so long now i doubt its going to get touched again.

Then again, ANET could surprise us with a sudden Rurik Buff, and pve people complain about fighting against him.

Hundred Blades was never intended to be an elite. It was promoted before release due to the potential Illusionary Weaponry + Double Attack combo. Because we all know how deadly IW is.

Reason skills are made elite:

1. More powerful than other equivalent skills in this line. (Energy Drain)
2. Provides functionally that isn't part of this skill line. (Ride the Lightning)
3. Basically a copy of another skill in the line. (Punishing Shot)
4. Some silly potential combo with another elite. (Hundred Blades)
5. Need to pad out them lists with some dross. (Plague Signet)

There are quite a lot of skills that fall into the fourth category. Most of them are the elites you look at, and think "Who the hell made up such a skill".

actually ive seen a few Stone Sheath/Mantra of Earth eles around but its rare ofcourse

All ranger preparations - make it work on spears too.
Favorable Winds - make it work on spears and magical projectiles.
Xinrae's Weapon - 15 energy, 15-12 recharge
Lightning Reflexes - 15 second recharge (but make it Elite skill)
Coward - 4 adrenaline
Crippling Slash - 2 adrenaline

Use a rit secondary and bring [skill=Dulled Weapon]Dulled Weapon[/skill] instead? [skill=Stone Sheath]Stone Sheath[/skill]

Stone sheath needs to have a IAS reduction in it, in order to warrent it being a eliete slot. It almost makes you want to cry when you look at them side by side.

Not-quite-energy-denial against one class is definitely elite-worthy. Especially on the class with

Is power drain elite?
HB+IW would only be overpowered in RA. It wouldn't do anything in serious pvp.

Buff Decapitate

Get rid of the lose all energy but increase the adrenaline cost to 10, so monks would have time to heal in PvP, and its not a overpowered eviscerate.

I guess they thought it might have had some use with the old 3-second gale, or kiting a melee character without an activatable (unpowered Rush????) stance??

It's worse than Signet of Judgement, isn't it? There isn't something secret here that it's 8 second recharge makes it any better?

IW+ HB wouldn't be overpowered in the random arenas.
