Default Should ANet save all PvP items as part of equipment template?

First of all, we should thank ANet came up with saving armor, runes and current weapon set for PvP character as the equipment template. Kudos to development team.

With skill template, I am almost 95% done for switching one PvP character to another, but was never able to make this process 100%. Why? because one weapon set is not good enough in most of cases, I have to rebuild my swapping set everytime after loading equipment template and skill stemplate.

I really hope that ANet can make euipment template load without any extra effort after it was saved.

I appreciate any of your suggestion, If I used my template incorrectly.

Thanks!

Yes, please.

However, I seriously don't even know if this will be that big of a deal. On most of my PvP characters I already keep full health armor, a head swap for each thing that I will probably use (axe helm + minor axe, air helm + minor air, etc.), and all the weapons that I will ever need, including a shield with +armor vs. just about everything. And all very nicely organized into the set of bags that I have left over from my PvE days, so that I can always find what I need if I need to switch fast.

So yes, I think that it is needed, but in reality, you should be keeping quite a few weapon swaps in your inventory permanently just in case either way.

I think the OP is thinking more about the situation of where you've deleted a class to go roll something else (but have a template saved) and then sometime later you create that class again and want to load that template. Not everyone has all of their character slots devoted to PvP characters

I have only 1 pvp slot, which gets rolled a lot. Rest are filled with pve characters even though I don't play them much anymore, but still don't want to delete them. So my vote goes for templates to save all four item sets. It is as frustrating as typing my password every time I change characters.

edit: typos

Templates should save all PvP items, not just the ones, which are equipped.

Saving all 4 weapon slots, and not only the first one, would indeed be great.

True you would have to remember to unequip stuff for savekeeping before loading a template, but that is already the case to avoid overwriting your first set.

Saving all the equiped / unequipped items would give too much troubles user-wise I think, especially upon loading a template while having items you want to keep in the inventory. Accidents would then be annoying. Only having to pay attention to the 4 slots seems kind of safer.

I'm pretty sure this idea crossed their minds when they were coding this setup, but didn't want to mess with it because its complicated. They seriously can't call it a full character template with just one weapon set, that's crazy talk.

/signed. should have been in from the beginning, seems like it was more of an oversight than intention.

I had to make about 30 PvP equipment presets just to get all my weapon/armor combos covered...and that's just for Warrior.

The solution:
#1) Expand available weapon quick slots to at least 8
#2) Templates save everything in quick slots

Of course, that still wouldn't help with shields, so you'd still have to go and create all your shield every time.

However, it would be very very nice to have 8 weapon slots....
