there is a larger variety of builds in the game because of the number of pvp posibilities. if you get rid of the 6v6 aspect of pvp, a whole list of builds become un used and obsolete.

and if the case is that 'people who want 6v6 are bad at 8v8' then go do some gvg and play with the 'better' people.
hey do me a favor, ok? Once you finish up troll farming with your w/mo, head over to obs mode and watch a couple gvg matches and then a couple HA matches and tell me if you still feel that way. Thanks...

Anyways I have an odd idea for a 8v8 build using new test weekend objectives. let me put it together...

if it were to go back to 8v8 it would be back to good old reliable , rspike haha. but i still havent figured out why people say that 2 extra character slots promote creativity , thats just a lie you know those 2 slots are gonna be 2 chars with a res 1-2 offensive skill and5-6 defensive skills not much creativity there. i rather like 6v6. in 8v8 you could win with shit players because those 2 extra slots you could fill with defensive shit and stick the 2 bad players on them in 6v6 you need at the very least 6 awake sober people Oo

...play somw? good shit.

and about the somw > bspike comment. i would agree, but bspike > somw IMO. theres no prot known to man that can help vs that much life steal.

Please stop posting links to gwshack IWAY and crap >.> You will not win with that. I may have to let this run longer than this weekend if there are not better submissions. I will go back and look again later but...... So far there is like 1 build that is borderline 2nd place at best and even then I would prefer to see stronger skill selection.

coles... do you even know what to look for in an HA build? I don't see any of the names i know posting here for build suggestions and no offense, but ive never seen you running around HA. Im not trying to be oon the offense, just wnat a litle bit of credibility before i bother to post something.

errr.... yeah ever see how easy it is to tire out an somw infuser? bspike has energy management, monks have a 10 sec recharge sigent. monks have a 20 sec spike skill, necs can spike every 3 seconds.

edit: none of these builds are acceptable at the moment. the only thing that steadily works is bpsike, and as we all know, gimmicks have vulnerabilities just like any other build.

Yea, I realized that when I read a different thread recently. I never really posted much on guru except trading until recently. I didn't recognize power of my hands as his name.... I thought that was one of his fanboys that come up with stuff like power of my buttocks. My bad, so yea his entry is valid.

You may have not seen me running around HA recently because I have only even logged in like 2 times in the past 2 weeks and that was for the test weekend. I am pretty experienced in GVG, but I used to play a lot of tombs in GVG downtimes. I think I am like 600 fame from rank 11, but have only gotten like 500 fame since 6v6 started. It is a really shit gameplay mode now and I just will never enjoy it. I even don't like TA too, maybe I just like all of the chaos of 8v8.

So, credibility? IDK.. The builds here so far seem pretty poor with a few exceptions. I suggested someone post a new IWAY or some FOTM adapted properly to 8v8 in NF with the proposed changes, but all I get is links to outdated gwshack crap. Except like power's build, which was shown to be effective, most of the builds so far are either really vanilla and have typical crap like sandstorm warders or have little glaring mistakes like choosing a really bad skillbar for one char. If you disagree with something about my assessment feel free to point it out.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to make builds. I often like to experiment, but I think I can come up with some solid builds too. If you guys prefer, I could make a great build and award myself the grand prize. My point of this thread was to both get everyone thinking about if 8v8 comes back, and to prove that pretty much nobody who is a good player wants 6v6. Even the few who I have seen argue for 6v6 seem to really just have issues with the game mechanics that are supposed to be in the process of being improved.

Degen pressure:

Throughout normal play, spread the hexes, keep blazing finale up on the warriors/pet (if it somehow doesn't die). Try to get the paragon's pet to die in aoe so the entire team gets the perma-speed boost from the dual retreats. I figured the only map that you might need to move the pet was removed, so it doesn't need to be rezable. Spread hexes, coordinate on kds to trigger awe. An LoD/HB would probably be the best dazed target. The warrior's targets should be at 10 degen most of the time from blazing + bleeding from desp/drunk. If there's a divert, the mesmer can humilty +gale to take it out of the picture 18/22 seconds., otherwise hit the RC. The divert should have 5 inspiration, just messed that up a bit, since I took it straight from a nonchanneling build (and no, the nonchanneling build didn't have seed).

On relics, retreat has the same range (last time I used it, which was a while ago) as HP once triggered, so anyone can really run, though preferably the warrior + paragon since the warrior has hard armor and steady, and the paragon has condition removal. Try to get the pet killed near where you're going to be setting up your blocks.

When holding altars, humility any elite based casters (SF, ect). Get the dazed on offensive characters. Have the warriors go into line backing mode (2 kds on attacking targets per cycle). Chain SoA and seed on the ghost. If they're taking out your backline, you should have the retreat to make kiting easier. There should be the appropriate counters for common threats (mellee pressure, hex pressure, condition pressure, spikes) as well as plenty of KDs.

Obvious weaknesses: The paragon bar is strange, but it serves its purposes. I'm not sure how the reaper's bar is on energy. If your facing a spirit team, it'll be fine, but theres a lot of expensive skills on there, so if things won't die, I don't know how it'll hold up.

EDIT: 8v8 ftw.

this may be selfish ignorant or just rude but i dont care. . . i did not read most of the posts but what i saw was this b-spike is a gimmick

what i have to say to this is there were tons of b-spikes runnin round and 1/10 were worse the the vimways(that is as much of an insult as it gets)
it took skill and teamwork to not look like crap when you spiked

I am [Tag] Coke, but not the original Coke I guess. When I started tombs in Nov. 05, I accidentally took the name i coke i from Axel and told him to go to hell when he wanted it back. Axel was a player from [Viki] and later [sA]. Please no more posts about me though, thx.

Wolfy, your build is okay but kinda meh. You seem like you could come up with better maybe. Just 2 hexers may be okay, but I question their usefulness and they are kind of plain. I forget if Retreat is still bugged, but you could probably get by with just a normal run skill or something. There is no reliable deep wound on the wars too. I would almost say a find their weakness is better than an 8 spec GFTE in that build >.>

This build here got me alot of fame from rank 6 to rank 9, and was the 1st build I started calling. I really love it and with a good warrior (me ) never really lost alot.

1 W/E: Shock/Frenzy/Evis/Exec/Sprint/DBlow/Rez
2 N/Mo: BiP/Order of Pain/Heal Other/Seed/Vamp Gaze/Heal Party/Rez/??? <--Something like this.
3 E/Mo: Glyph of Energy/Ob Flame/Rez/Stability/Foes/Melee/Earth Attune/Aegis
4 R/W: Choking Gas/Seeking Arrows/Practiced Stance/Savage/Distract/Flurry/Dual Shot/Rez
5 R/W: Oath Shot/Symbi/Fertile/Seeking/Savage/Dual Shot/Rez/Whirling
6 Mo/Me: WoH/Heal Party/Seed/Orison/Kiss/Inspired Hex/Veil/Channeling <-- Something like this.
7 Mo/Me: SB/Infuse/Touch/Seed/Kiss/Inspired Hex/Veil/Channeling <-- Something like this.
8 Mo/Me: RC/Prot Spirit/Convert/Drain Enchant/Inspired Enchant/RoF/Guardian/Channeling <-- Something like this.

I am bit iffy with the bars but I overall this was it. Was the first build I ran myself and made about 2k fame with it. 1st build I held with my name also
All in all it's probably my fav build of all and could be easily modded to fit the current meta and to use some of the cool new skills.
