Restoration rits are more conditional than monks
Well, you should never make a teambuild based on a backline. Basically, you should first search a way to kill things before finding a way to keep your team alive (IMO). In other words, it doesn't matter that rits are conditional, sometimes those conditions are met anyway (and not in function of the rit).

Here's an example: say, you want to make a melee pressure build for 8v8 HA using NR and Tranq to evade enchantments. In such a build a backline consisting of a Channeling/Restoration rit (with weapon of fury/warmongers weapon), a Restoration based rit and a rc/infuse monk is actually quite good.

Basically, monks are in most cases indeed better than restoration rits, but sometimes your offense demands a restoration rit. My statement is that restoration rits are indeed more conditional than monks, but that that does not matter anyway.

In step with Zakaria talking about international districts,

I always noticed things in international districts that were quite different from american ones. When I would RA in IDs people would often, right at the beginning of the match, briefly state their build and mechanism. I almost never see this in AD RA. I also saw a different range of skill selection in ID. It was the first place I saw monks using Contemplation of Purity, Sheild Stance, Frenzied Defense, and skills like these. This while all the rage in AD was for monks using Dark Escape and Return. I even saw skills like Sheild of Regen, before the buff. I think ID is just less victim to the metagame. You get to see more stuff over there; and stuff that works well. AD RA everyone is either running cookiecutter or crap. It's like clockwork, you can make builds around it.

As for rits, I totally agree with you. They have types of skills unlike anything else. With the update they have become generally more usable. With the right team builds, their conditions don't matter (or are less important). Their position may be quite different from anything before though. It will take people time to figure them out I think. I've been seeing some interesting stuff lately though.

shield stance/frenzied defense are quite common among any mo/w's in RA as well as TA...didn't see any cop's though.

I have seen some success in running a restoration N/Rt (the one used in the HA spirit builds). Usually 10 flawless for glad pt. The only things it has a ton of problems with is constant knockdowns (even a monk would) and HEAVY damage (fire ele, channling rit, ect)
