This is my experience too. Although, saying that, there are some PVE players who just flat out refuse to accept that they are playing a different game when they GvG . What I have found that you get from some experienced PVE players is at least an understanding of the skills and game mechanics, which is more than can be said for most arena monkeys. A talented PVE player that is keen and willing to learn is usually perfectly capable of making the transition to GvG relatively painlessly.

There are tons of reasonably experienced players always eager to gvg with a new guild, you might even find a regular guest who's really good and can teach your guild a thing or two.
Agreed. Its often really relaxing in fact for decent players to take a break from the intensity of the top end of the game and they usually welcome such invites.

I have since given stewardship of the guild to my brother...while I try out a few GVG guilds... I am in one now that seems decent enough... after getting a bit of experience I will continue to build up the Crimson claw.... but thanks to all for the tips...

edit: I will still be actively building up my guild as well...so I dont want to discourage further posts

GvG competition is only "high" when you're high-ranked. If you take a number of initial losses, you'll be facing fairly low competition pretty soon, which can then lead to some wins and morale. If you are leading (which it sounds like you should), try to guest for someone in GvG first (one of your HA buddies) a few times so you understand the basic tactics, also spend some time on observer mode. Copy a good pressure build as suggested, designate a flagger, get on vent and just start playing.

The competition in Team Arenas depends a lot on when you play, primetime for Europe is fairly hardcore, America less so, and things are breezy-easy at around say 3AM EST. Maybe something similar goes on in HA.

Yes, the same thing happens in HA. Held with [cow] to 40 fame wins with a healer henchie... (We played 3 games to get to halls, and one more to win halls, then our other player monk rage quit in the middle of our fifth match). The only descent team we saw in that entire time was the one that kicked us out of halls.
