Default Guild fell apart after the last CT match

Our guild split up after the last CT game. I don't know if it was due to playing the CT or other underlying issues, but there was a hell of a lot of arguments and bullshit going on during the gvgs and between them.

Did anyone else have find the CT putting a strain on their guild or did it have the opposite effect?

many guilds have actually disbanded cause of the CT.

some of these were actually pretty good as well - my own guild disbanded during the CT as well.

some had problems but are still around.

reading the other thread gives a slight idea of how many are gone already.

We pulled out for that very reason. Even with our ten man submitted it was a pain waiting on 1-2 players every match. When we did get our 8, people were already stressed, no to mention we'd be thinking of what to run 5-10 before match time, no prep. The tension in the air between a regular gvg and the ct were easily felt.
I'm sorry to hear you guys have disbanded, however, if you guys never really felt the "gel" it was probably for the best.

Ugly side of competition... Personally I don't understand why a guild would take the CT seriously enough to rage over unless you have a really good shot at placing high enough for a material prize. Otherwise, just take the experience of the "tournament" and move on.

Thats the thing, we knew we would be lucky to get 3 points (we eventually got 9 but thats beside the point) so we had nothing to lose by playing. I guess it just magnified the problems that were already present.

Well my last guild split it during the tourney, i supose part of it was the stress of getting people sorted, but people leaving for other games like WoW i think is the main reason.

lol, craptalk? Please, don't flatter yourself. Sorry, moving from top 50 to top 200 is a big downgrade, regardless of which guild it is. No crap talk, just pointing out the obvious.

Well rank isnt that important, being on observer loses its novelty value after about 2 games and seeing other guilds like wM in the top10 just devalues the whole thing, the problem with taking the game too seriously is that you lose sight of the reason you play and end up stressed out from playing.

Unless your getting paid for playing the only thing you take away from the game is good memories.

A guild in our alliance had all the officers and leader split into different guilds because of the celestrial tournament.

A better question is how many guilds would have disbanded if Anet hadn't given us something to do while they work on the much awaited Automated Tournament.

I think that the tourney helped my guild. I am in Reign of Xen [XoO]. We actually had problems getting our tourney team together at times, but the tourney itself helped to highlight GvG within our guild. We went from pretty much a PvE only division of XoO to one where people are looking to do some GvG.

but its not as if Xen would disband, although if u was finding it hard to get an 8 man team togeather i would consider leaving lol, u got like 500 members.

There maybe 500ish members of XoO, but there are also many different divisions having different types of play goals. There where in fact 3 different teams from XoO playing in the tourney, all from different XoO "guilds".
