Is this still going on in HA? I haven't seen it in a while now. All the silver trims must be gone...

Yea, it still goes on every now and then. And no, people still have there trims from the Celestial Tourney.

Most guilds have stopped by now because most people that like to buy there way in are actually getting smart and not doing it anymore.

I DO NOT "respect" guild names, tags nor good looking capes, however I DO "respect" great players.
1: Deal is a Deal; they paid to join the guild, and they get the invitation. No scam here.
2: Every single guild have rules to follow. Doesn't matter if you paid, the rules apply for everyone. (Reason for kick)
3: Get information before accepting the deal. Ex: join my R[x] guild for 50k! If you agree with it, you CANNOT expect all what you want; no FACTS to support you, since they only offered an Invitation for an unknown time and/or unknown terms.

Every person can do whatever they want with their money/gold, and guilds can do whatever they want with their guild. This is not affecting the game.
totally agree with that, guess what I got recently in RA?

who would respect a player like that even he/she is in high rank guild

sometimes rank is deceiving. On the top of that, if they trash talk when he/she get mad for whatever reason.

usually you can ignore what they say for now and remember whoever that person is. If you're a pvper and got a decent guild bounded by great players, you can easily seek revenge in battles. I mean that's how I normally do it if someone's really annoying...(rarely happen) ^^;

Just a couple comments on member selling:

1, its their guild, and more pvp guild will have on average 10-15 people in the guild. this means they have extra slots to work with. Right now, I am a co-leader of The Black Parades, which is a HA guild, and people request to join fairly often. Im sure its much the same with high ranked guilds. People want in just because you are well known. Thus the basis of Charging for Invites.

2, Its not a scam. Some guilds kick members, and then nobody will pay for an invite again. Usually they allow the members to stay. I saw an earlier post about PUFF. The leader of puff (Goes by LAAL, but that isn't his ingame name, so dont bother) SOLD THE GUILD. The core that got them where they are is now in a different guild. This happens alot, and allows the core team to reap the benefits of their trim, albeit in a touch more permanent way.

3, Seriously. You pay to get an invite, and you are angry if your treated like a 3 year old in the guild? Look at it this way: you are in the guild for the name and the cape, why would you WANT to talk with the officers? The core membership also has no idea of your skill level, so why would they risk a GvG with you. I was talking with LAAL and he said the people who bought invites expected to GvG with the core. WAKE UP. seriously...

Now I dont mind people selling invites. We will never do it in The Black Parades, but that doesn't mean its wrong. Learn which players are in the guild, and treat everyone else like they just weren't in it. If they try and hold it over your head, just tell them you know they bought their invite. If you HA or GvG regularly, you will earn friends and enemies who know who you are, and you will learn who made and is in what guild. Its a neat community. If someone thinks they can jump from PvE to being a member of this community with just 100k gold, they need to think again. It takes much much more then that.

just my two cents

You couldn't have said it better than that.
Selling a membership invite is no scam and I see nothing wrong with that, If the guild decided to sell invitations to random players let them do it, If you're not interested then simply ignore it. Personally I think the ones joining just for the cape trim and that expect to HA/GVG with the core team are immature kids who wanna be popular. If ppl think they can get everything with money they are wrong, sometimes they need to use the brain.

I think the noob-bashing has pretty much finished.

Quite frankly, as has been said, the guilds that sell invites don't care about Joe Scrub's respect; it's not like Joe Scrub is going to convince anyone. Last time I saw Joe Scrub complaining about it in HA ID1, the overwhelming response was: "lrn2GW imo."

And honestly, most of the "o i dont respect u guyz nemoar lolz" comes from the fact that Joe Scrub has to spend hours farming to make the money that those guilds do in ten minutes. If it's jealousy that's driving your concern, lrn2gvg imo. The ladder is for farming... use it.

First of all, I love it how you people compare the actions of those to their real life. Honestly I don't think anyone cares what someone thinks of them in a game. I think they'll be able to sleep at night despite their "morally wrong and dishonorable actions."
Remember people IT'S A GAME. It's their guild they are allowed to do whatever the hell they want with it as long as it complies with the rules of this game. They worked hard for their accomplishment.
I'm pretty sure that they could care less about what few RA/TA/HB/AB/HA players think about them. It's the players not the guild that makes them. As stated earlier the ladder is worthless right now the only real indication left in this game are tournaments.
Blaming selling of invites of top ranked guilds the cause of the death of the competetiveness of GW? LOL... Certain skills and builds have contributed to that. This game's competetiveness is barely hanging to the tiny shreds of life it has left. As stated earlier, "learn2gwimo" kthxbai.

Personally i think what they're doing is fine. They're selling memberships? so what? they earned it, fair play to them. If idiots want to buy glory(albeit short term), let them. I'm not associated with any of these guilds but i am pretty sure that most of you would be doing the same thing if you were in those guilds(myself included).

Just stop buying memberships and this will go away.
