Killcounts are retarded and need removed OR changed to 1v1 OR adapted to hybrid killcount + capturepoint or something. TBH all that matters to me is 8v8, new or old mechanics. I don't think old altars has any potential if you are trying to improve things, the new way can be fun if they actually work to fix it (questionable chances).

BTW, there is supposedly going to be skill balance info tomorrow. (per anet dev)

8v8 = ftw
6v6 = ftl
PLZ CHANGE IT TO 8v8 every single build now is either 2asn 2ele and 2monks or ritt spike so teams remove a asn or a ele for a hexer but look in observer or go play ha yourself its retarted.... friends help each other on kill counts there is no room for balance when you can only run 4 characters and 2 monks and you need high dmg to compete with the 2asn 2nuker crap... in 8v8 there is alot more room for balance more builds every team is not meta every game NERF RITTS FFS IS ANET RETARTED?!?! 140 dmg 1 second cast on a UTILITY CHARACTER WOW... how can you not see that is over powered.... Lamenation IGNORES ARMOR WTF?!?! so dumb... obviously they changed it because all the iway but in the test weekend how much iway did anyone actully see ? not much and it wasnt over powered

kill count is the dumbest idea since chain lighting spike... its really sad 1 team dosnt even have a chance once samwhiched and its pretty stupid how 2 teams pick on one for no reason change it...also not fair i will weaken a guy down to 20 health and a asn will tele port in or the guy will walk into some aoe and the other team gets it so STUPID WOW WTF!! and wtf spend 6 mins in halls running relics how stupid is that... there is no stategy in that friends work together snare your team and you lose after having a good build and beating all the maps up to halls and 2 friends teams in halls snare you.. WOW THAT IS TOTALLY FAIR im not going to gripe anymore seeing as no one probley even cares

Welcome to the club. We have been boiled over by these stupid updates to. I can currently say im retired and wont be comming out of retirement untill HA is fixed because its just plane gay at the moment. Anet are acting like their in the ice age at the rate their going. If were not careful soon we will have flying cars before they give us what we want. I just want to point something out to. Anyone noticed that the HA section of the forms is dying (aka being less and less active). Maybe it is because people fed up of this rubbish and so cant be botherd to speak. Maybe it is becaus everyone realises anets iqs dropped and so has quit. Hum, i donno to be honest

I nearly never bother answering to that kind of things cause it just degenerates, but i'm bored, so...

1) I've been playing HA a lot in the last few days with a build we made on our own (no SP sin, no Ele, no Rt spike... we actually just have 1 monk too) and did very well overall with it, nearly never losing a 1v1 and never felt that 2 sins + 2 eles was actually any kind of serious threat (we flawlessed them all the time in 1v1 and beat most in kill counts).

But that's not what i wanted to say, my point isn't to brag, it's that i just wanted to point out how wrong the 'all you see is 2 sins + 2 eles and Rt spike' that people say all the time on forums is. We faced tons of various builds, hexers with warriors or assassins, ranger + paragon pressure, heavy warriors with an hydro support, etc. I faced maybe 5 Rt spikes in 50-60 matches. I agree that the 2 sins + 2 eles is more common, but i nearly only saw newb PuGs run it, nearly all good and well known team i faced were running something else that was more balanced. Last night we faced QQ and they held HoH for a long while and they had 1 Dom Mesmer (PD for elite), 1 Fire Ele, 1 Curses Necro and 1 Warrior. That's a gimmicky build maybe? No, it's a very balanced build for 6v6 and it actually did very well in HoH, having the necessary utility for all game types. The meta is actually evolving AWAY from Rt spike and 2 sins + 2 eles for any decent team. People adapted to it and know how to counter it too well by now.

2) If you get sandwiched in kill count is cause you screwed up. Honestly, there's no other reason. I never got sandwiched in a kill count in a situation where i couldn't have prevent it by playing in another way before-hand. If you don't disengage fast enough or attack a team at a wrong time, it's YOUR problem. If you're getting sandwiched, rush through one team playing fully defensive to have THEM sandwiched.

3) You can't steal kills like this in kill count. Stop saying 'oh yes you can', no you can't. Just understand how the system works. The only exception might be if all you did is degen and life steal on a target, i'm not 100% sure how those are calculated.

4) If 2 friend teams are in HoH and decide to screw you over, be it relic run or old altar capping pre-Nightfall, you'll lose. It doesn't actually matter. Friend teams usually means non-newb/pug and 2 good teams working together can EASILY insure that the other team will lose no matter what you do and no matter the system. In fact i'd say that if they couldn't something would be wrong with HA. 2v1 are gonna be win by the 2 teams NO MATTER the win conditions given that the teams are of a similar skill level (and the 2 teams together can actually be significantly worse and still win, cause well they're 2v1). That's how 3-way works, there's nothing ANet can do about it and HoH needs to stay 3 way to insure that no single team could hold forever (if they can it means there's a serious skill balance problem, like there was in altar-capping HoH with Paragon teams or Spirit spam)

5) As for HoH games, they actually involve AT LEAST as much tactics now than they ever did before when all you had to do was cap and hold an altar without ever needing to split your team at all. Relic runs you have to manage to dual run while snaring and keeping everyone alive over the map, capture points you need very good coordination and strategy to go cap around the map without getting screwed and handle your ghostly very well to have it where it's the most beneficial, etc.


I'm not saying i like kill counts in its exact format right now (though honestly i like it better than holding an altar. There's more tactics involved most of the time when you actually grasp the map so that you maneuver your team well, hit at good time and take advantage of every opportunity there is. Bad teams get sandwiched or split all over the map where they feed the other teams. But i don't like the fact that a bad team can sooo easily give the game away by just not understanding how the thing works and having horrible maneuvering or strategy and giving tons of free kills to the other team you're trying to beat, so something needs to be changed about kill counts) or that i think no skill balance is needed btw. I think HA still needs some work. But i'm tired of seeing so much uneducated stuff that looks like a copy-paste of what other people posted before without actually playing the new HA decently to get a grasp of how thing works and of what kind of utility is now required to win (which is much deeper than 'lots of spikes' if you want to actually hold HoH). I'm also in favor of 8v8 btw (but never with old mechanics. I don't think the new ones are perfect at all, but it was so boring to just play ultra defensive to hold an altar forever, now at least there's other stuff to do...)

There, that was my 'pointless-answer-cause-people-will-half-read-it-and-either-ignore-it-if-they-can't-flame-it-or-answer-with-some-more-uneducated-stuff' post of the day.

no update yet and no information. Date they said they would do such things has been far exceeded. I believe anets asking for planning permission for a bigger grave thats probly why there taking so long. One thing that makes me laugh though is people say anet are working hard trying to make HA "fun", Still have yet to see the fruit of their labour. 6v6 for 8 months like, an thats called hard work? And just out of curiosity. i havent seen galie post here much, what happened to her im sure she used to pop in and out quite a while ago.

To be honest i think my pet tortose moves faster than anet or shall i say lamenet. Come on, how long did it take you to nurf some over powered skills but to add insult to injury, you do this and dont even fix tombs or give us any info on it. Or even make it 8v8 when you can clearly see from the polls people think 6v6 sucks. Is it just me or is anet doing this on purpose because it seems like (and im sorry i have to say this but it must be said) utter stupidity. Now i bet were going to have to wait another 2 months before any information.

I much prefer the 8v8 battles. Though i am alright with the new kill count, and other new stuff i dont like 6v6. The bigger the battles, the better, in my opinion. It also leaves room for better team builds

The only posative change Anet has made to HA was the removal of scarred earth (I still think it should of been replaced with another 1v1 map). Every other update to increase the "fun" of HA has been complete garbage.

Who is coming up with these ideas? The people behind these "fun changes" should have been fired a long time ago (along with whoever thought destroying the gvg ladder would be a good idea.)

Obviously has not been reading the posts on this thread or this section of the forms. And this is what anets problem is. It is denial. another thing i want to point out here which i pointed out in another thread is about the poll done to turn HA to 6v6 initially which i heard from other players was infact done.

Is it now? i guess anet did not because many players as the HA community have said for ages do not use the forms and have not untill 6v6 was introduced. So who was voting for the majority? This is basically what i am highlighting. Sloppy descisions made by anet are causing major problems. Up to the time 6v6 came in. Aka when it did come in, it seemed like from then onwards that anet had got new leadership. There conduct has just been downhill from there

I'm really sick of this ANET bs, and lies. Are they purposely trying to piss people off? It seems like they have ignored every word of warning from players and gone ahead with stupid changes, resulting in one of the worst states of
HA ever.

It is now ten days after the stated time of an HA decision, these ten days have gone by without any word at all from ANET, no contact at all, it seems that ANET doesn't really care, it is obvious that ANET thinks things like AI exploitation competitions (Hero Battles) are more important than a PVP mode that actualy had a real player base before ANET had to ruin things.

Please, calm down people. Anet are preparing new changes, mostly based on our requests/ feedback. The reason why their rep are avoiding our lovely forums, is the hard time they are getting here....

I know thats not fair that we have to wait for so long, but the changes are coming, and even if thats too late, please be patient, and dont flame them so openly and so often. Otherwise, we are going to be avoided, and Gaile and Alex will be posting only on noob GWO, and they will get all the info/polls and whatnot.

Just chill out a little.....

They were getting flamed mainly for not posting their decision on 8v8 by March 1st as promised I believe. I tried to look it up for a quote but your fine forums deny me access to find all posts by Gaile. Either way people have been complaining for 8v8 since 6v6 came out. Polls have had 8v8 winning for 3+ months and it is still 6v6?

Getting flamed for bad communication is not a good excuse to cut off communications entirely. They have used that time and time again from the release of GW.

If the reason for the delay is significant map updates, as a bare minimum they should say that. Better yet, they should give us an idea of WHAT they are going to do before they do it. If they did that, they could avoid mistakes like implementing 3-way killcount.

QFT, how hard is it to post something somewhere about their plans, and to actually stick with what they say for once. All we want is information on what your next move is, Anet (aka 8v8 HA).

If it was easy, I bet it wouldn't be so interesting . I get frustrated sometimes too, especially after another rock&roll-raping-gank by two rit-spikes (I love you ANet for nerfing that) at Broken Tower... And then comes the flame. But of course you are right. I don't think there is anything they could say to make the community feel better. Changes must come and I hope they come sooner then later. Being patient helps a lot .
