Red face Necro hex SP

Recently in TA I have come face to face with a necro Spirit Spam team, and its kinda hard to beat.(Well I am not to sure on how to anyway) Does anybody know the build or even just parts of it so I can come up with something to counter it. (Sorry for sounding a bit nooby mates bit i'm still fairly new on the TA scene)

Wait for the update, nerf to SR, bam.

But generally, lure them out, kill/interrupt spirits as they put them down, free win. Can be harder to do than it sounds, but patience and smart play will kill them. Once you get the spirit nest down in any Spirit spam team, they generally fall fast if you can keep spirits from landing.

The thing about those builds in TA is they generally rely on wearing you down rather than an all out barbs spike, which means you have the option of engaging and then retreating if it looks like the pressure is too great. Kill spirits where possible and try for spikes when melee characters become hex-free. If you're running condition degen, make recovery and recouperation priority targets.

Hopefully after this weekend these builds will become obsolete, though I'm a little disappointed that Reaper's Mark seems to be untouched.

Lol Reapers Mark takes a full 30 sec to do 300 damage to one foe, where something like Savannah Heat will do the same damage to a bunch of foes in 5 sec. for the same energy cost.

It takes a fair bit of work to play a hex Necro, you are exposed for a long time between kills compared to say Blood Spike that can get some quick heals out of it.

An interrupt Ranger can ruin a hex Necro's day, as the Necro doesn't get to fast cast hexes like a Mes does.

Savannah Heat only does significant damage if you have other skills to prevent kiting out of it, otherwise its pretty trashy. Then again who knows maybe people you play against dont have keyboards or a mouse.

When I'm monking I'm relieved to see a fire ele on the other team, cause I know he can't do much besides raw DPS that can be mitigated anyway. When I see a hex necro, I sigh and prepare to actually have to do my job.

thats a bit trolly, there isn't much room on 4 chars to bring everything, but hell, I don't think I have to lecture you. Let's just say I'm happy with the SR nerf ^^.

yeah, but so far anything in this thread is useless. he asked for the build, nobody answered. even savannah heat was mentioned, so way to go?

who isnt happy about the SR nerf - except pve mms that fail at energy management?

however, the nerf shouldnt really hurt the build by a lot, so yay~

I will quote from my own post above for those that missed it:

Or do you want me to post a basic interrupt Range build as well?

Problem is that they just nerfed Soul Reaping so will they be continued to be seen?

nr>>you.

and as for reapers being weaker then savanah...wth?

u can keep the degen on multiple chars if left untouched...sh will only rock if u ball up and stay balled up till it ends.
so at the end, it's always reapers>>sh (apart from smite farming, yay ^^).

especially when it comes to pressure with thumps.

Unnatural signet is pretty good at taking down the spirits. Without the spirits it's not much of a threat anymore. Also interrupts and aoe dmg to the spirits work well. They don't have much hp.

I usually go in with a knockdown first or graping earth, deep freeze, you name it, then SH or sometimes cast SH first then the slowdown, of course you can always call for a body block from your teammates. If that's too tricky Searing Flames does better damage than either Reapers or SH and they can't run out of it. Reapers is good on Thumpers as they have poor or non-existent self heal and rely on the Monks more than most other builds. Mind you Faintheartedness with a cover hex like Suffering does as much if not more damage than Reapers in 30sec.

You gotta remember that Reapers is not just about degen, it's about energy management, that's why it's under the Soul Reaping attribute and not curses.

You're kinda missing the point imo. Degen pressure =/= Dps pressure.

On the topic of TA, as a solo monk (almost always in TA) it's easier to preport against SH spikes than it is to try get your veils and ZBs off while you're being bombarded with all the other hexes in the opponent's build (Wither, Migrain + a million interrupts, BA ranger, etc). Yeah, you can (and probably should) run support from another char, i.e. Purge, Expell, Veil, but then what do we have?

Someone else said it, and it's prolly the best way to go; organise a spike or something and purge/deveil your warriors before they spike. Best way to do it is to try learn the timing of the opposing necro (some use price, feint, rm, parasitic in fast sequence while others wait for you toveil and then drop their stack) and spike out just as your PoF or Feint is blinking (with a veil precast to quickly end a new price).
