To be the opposite of my other thread.

What build do you think was the most creative or innovative you ever saw?

Master of Magic smiters, touch rangers, and Nightmare Weapon bow spikers are probably the three most non-conventional builds I've seen that actually work. The original thumper build was kind of clever when it was created.

Agreed.
Nothing to say about individual builds, but for team builds:
- Probably all incarnations of minion factories and EoE bombs in halls.
- Mo/R ranger spike. I think vind actually posted one of these builds here, either way it was an extremely uncommon holding build in HA where monks took out their bows and dual savaged shit. I think it's even been used in GvG for some obscure reason. Either way it was a funny joke build.
- Jr posted a wierd team recall zerg block build video once, seemed pretty damn originial.
- Frenzy Healsig's wierd Mo/A spike.
- EaSy ran some of the first mass soul reaping abuse builds in tombs, and they were pretty damn original at the time (they actually had warriors!).
- pre-nerf IWAY (4 W/R, 1 R/Mes, 1 R/Mo, 1 N/Mo, 1 N/E). Original concept at the time.
- Te's flareway was funny.

Will post more in a bit.

Soon thereafter became the standard monk build...less divine intervention maybe.

Seems like they really like using DI. Still see DI being used by WM today

In the end most monks went with Inspired Hex over Veil (it was so lovely back when Inspired Hex casted right through Diversion with no setback), E-drain over Mantra, and PS/SB over CoP.

I think the linebacker build was very original.

Mhm, I loved MoR Boonprot. Ihex was great for energy also I used to think touch rangers were completely imbalanced when they first were around, but they are pretty "neat" imo.

I believe that Divine Intervention is actually a very strong spell when used properly, however, it's limited because the recharge makes it so that you might not have it when you need it. It's one of the strongest OSHI- buttons, providing a monster heal for 5 energy on a 1/4sec cast for spikes and saving low targets. However, the recharge limits it to use every 30 sec, and if the enemy is spiking only every 30 sec, that's pretty sad.

It also probably won't be used much with most monk teams, as most monks tend to try and not let spike targets die and don't want to risk the enchant removal. However, it provides a nice 2nd layer of defense.
