I quit playing HA after the killl count maps were out. - ok when it happened I was truly shocked by what I saw, it painfuly reminded me counterstrike, or BF2 - (still being a better version that this!) 3 teams, 2 gonna feed on noobs and the most lucky wins, you may or may not take it but its an experts opinion - how did that improved my gameplay? well its different now - yes, more interesting - definetly NOT, it doesnt promote any strategy and defenetly doesnt make HA a happy welcome for newbies.

Kill count maps are what is keeping the meta from shifting away from purely aoe dmg, spike, or heavy melee w/ NR/Tranq. Again, as stated by many individuals in this forum, most balanced builds of pressure can't survive (hex, condition pressure or shutdown) can't survive in the meta because they will be screwed for these maps because the build can not kill fast enough.

It's not even necessarily that fact alone that makes kill count a bad idea...it is also the fact that people will gank a lone team who has won halls or is newbie for all their kills in a match, and that really doesn't give that team a fighting chance. And, since the teams can run around as long as they like, kill count maps are merely special olympics maps fighting for position rather than fighting people.

IMO, a couple things COULD be done:
1) Switch broken tower and courtyard back to holding. Have broken tower a 1v1 map.
2) If removing kill count is such a big deal, in both kill count maps the centar altar is worth a 10% dmg boost, which really promotes spike and AoE dmg even further. Make the altar worth something more, maybe a point every 30 seconds to make the mechanics of kill count more "non-special olympics" and promote the teams to actually fight one another. This would also promote teams to not just gank a single team that isn't holding an altar (unless one team really doesn't want to win).

Although the best is simply removing kill count and changing the mechanics of these maps. Would help restore the wide skill range of guild wars into HA and every match would be different, instead of more or less of the same.

I don't know, I like Kill count. Killing is fun. Trying to kill people under 1512 enchants and 901 spirits isnt.

This is getting ridiculous, Anet refuses to give us any information, or updates on kill count, Gaile even refuses to acknowledge the problem, and only states that it is being looked into.

In the real world 1+1=2 in Anet world 1+1 = 745549685968

Kill count is stupid, but big NO to change it back to holding altars again just make search in forums and see how many threads were complaining about holding altars from long time ago. I'd rather Anet keeps kill count than reverting back to altar holding.
chain aegis + SoC + wards + SB + dozen of retarded enchant.. yea that what differed pro teams from nubs..GG. Admit it..most of you want holding altars back because it was better to farm fame with it than this stupid kill count.
