Ah yes, back in the days when pugs were common compared to predominantly playing with people you already knew from the beginging of the game. Nice comparison there, since we can't re-wind time and re-invent pugs for everyone equally.

Basically anyone newer to pvp has to prove themselves somehow and there are very few ways to do so within this game, due to the fact that the game lies within instances. Failing that option, the individuals are forced to seek out someone to absorb them into a reliable and active guild in order to learn anything, or get lucky in trying to form their own groups with bored older pvpers who were wishing that more of their friends list were online.
