1. Shadow Walk
2. YAA
3. Sever Artery
4. Gash
5. Final Thrust
6. Dash
7. Signet Of Malice
8. Healing Signet

10 Strength 9+1
16 Swordsmanship 12+3+1
10 Tactics 9+1

Weapons - Vamp, Zealous, Elemental, and Sundering
Shield - Exalted Aegise (What I would use I dont gvg)

Gank Build. Can defeat all npcs dunno on lord probably can.

Edit - coldplay that must be a glitch because Rotwing's Recurve Bow has crippling mod on it and its in proph. Seeing that theres no real use for a crippling hammer (other than some dervish skill that slips my mind) i wouldnt worry about it. This build is also very great for 1v1

You can kill the lord, it just takes more time than you'd ever have to do so alone.

Good call, Disrupting Dagger is superior even to Distracting Blow on this guy.

Isn't just Sever/Gash a bit weak? Why not Dismember/Agonizing Chop, Agonizing interrupts too so you could bring Executioner's or something instead of d-dagger.

Ya thats probably the best so far. Although if u try to interupt anything else(Heal sig and troll) ull probably have trouble with no ias. Also this way u could also bring Executioners or crit chop.

EDIT - I also did some testing with the same build but Rage Of The Ntouka for elite. It works fairly good. I tried with all npcs near lord alive to gank the bodyguard and i was succesful. Also u can fully charge your adrenaline with this and it wont go down.

Shadow Walk
"You're All Alone!"
Sever Artery
Gash
Disrupting Dagger
Dash
Signet Of Malice
Healing Signet

10 Strength 9+1
16 Swordsmanship 12+3+1
10 Tactics 9+1
Dump In Deadly Arts

Shadow Walk
"You're All Alone!"
Dismember
Agonizing Chop
Executioners Strike/Critical Chop
Dash
Signet Of Malice
Healing Signet

10 Tactics 9+1
16 Axe Mastery 12+3+1
10 Strength 9+1

And here are my tests of Rage of the Ntouka. I am using the same the same stats as Sword YAA.

Nice. I think YAA is better though because it's more useful outside ganking (imo)
Also, ignore my previous suggestion I guess (the paragon part). Nerf bat ftw

Default Monk/Elementalis Questions

I have recently joined Guild Wars, coming from playing two types of healers in World of Warcraft. Currently, I have a Monk/Elementalist on GW. Here are the following questions I have. If someone has answered it in the above posts, then just copy and paste, no problem.

1. Currently, I am maxed out on healing prayers and protection prayers with a few in divine. In one party, I had two people feuding over whether I should max out in divine and then choose healing OR protection to put the points in. Another person said that it is fine the way I have it. I want my focus to be on healing, but I know that all of these skills play off each other in some way. Please post what you believe I should do with skill points.

2. On the skill bar, knowing that I have prot and healing prayers maxed out, what would be the best skill set to have going into a team battle? What would be the best set to have going into Alliance Battle?

3. In the past week, I have played with some extraordinary tanks, and I never run out of energy; however, for every good tank, I find 100 other ones who just plain go nuts and yell for heals when I am dead. What are some comments you have to help a monk who is in team with a group that is just rushing around, allowing the monk to get hit from behind and basically getting one-shotted. In WoW I never would make excuses for the tank or offtank dying-my job was to keep him/her up, so I had tricks I could pull out to help alleviate the pressure. What are some tips or tricks here in guild wars?

Thanks for the response(s)--I appreciate it!

Wow at 6 month old thread.

The honest answer is, it depends on the area you are going into. And what your team make up is.

If the area is full of enchant strips, protection is a very risky method.
Conversely, if an area has little or no enchant removal, you can pretty much make your team invincible through prots.
Otherwise if there is heavy degen, you might have to think about some Heal Party etc.
However, I am afraid, damage mitigation is performed at the party level. Put the 'good tanks' on your foe's list and play with them more often.

To answer Unleashed Phoenix question 1 ) I would advise that you always have a reasonable amount of points in divine favor because divine on its own is healing every time you cast a monk spell that targets an ally.
If you focus on healing then I'd max that and have minimum of 9 in divine.

Slightly different if you want to run a heavy protection build. You might choose to have protection in 12 or 13 and put divine on 16 to max on the heals you get from divine favor.

This is kinda general, I don't know the exact circumstances. I hope it helps. Have fun monking
