Yeah, it's a fairly old bug. Not that changing it really affects anything.

As for the cancel button..... why did they even put that in there? What useful purpose does it serve?

It has no use, I want to see it gone as well. Why is that, every update we get, they work on un-needed god damn interface changes that nobody wants? Remember the update a while back that screwed the health bars in party window? Or how they added another transparent window around target names? The added rainbow effect to skill status activation? The skill delay? When all they really need to do, is focus their damn resources on GAME BALANCE! It's no wonder every update we get isn't filled with mouth watering skill balance, these guys are farting around with an already working game/interface, among other things.....

Yeah, that cancel button is really bugging me. Whoever put it in there and whoever suggested it is a total moron. Good job anet for neglecting everything that should be changed and adding in the most useless feature that annoys everyone. At least you made me want to PvE again...kinda...

And I think by now, the GW vets shouldn't be expecting much from anet in terms of game balance or anything. All they do is waste all their time on useless features that no one would ever care about.

P.S. seed of life is ftw in pve. those skills should be usable in places like AB and fort aspenwood so people stop thinking those areas are real PvP, because they're not.

Most of the time, companies have different people working on improving the interface versus working on balance, so that's not quite a valid argument. What's "skill delay" referring to?

I kind of like how several of the PvE skills are disgustingly good though, maybe now the awful PvE players will shut up since they've been handed easy-mode with dual SoL bonders (casting SoL on a bonder = roflcopter), There's Nothing To Fear, and warriors getting an 8-adrenaline non-elite 2.5x-power double-duration Incoming.

Don't forget the huge rando ele damage buffs, that also buff every other spellcaster. Also, I'm thinking n/p bippers with that 31% damage redux shout are going to be pretty solid.

My biggest gripe is the auto-target after something dies. kinda fun on paragon, not so fun on midline.

Yea. If any PvEers come complaining about PvP balances destroying their builds now, I'm going to kick them in the face.

And maybe they added the cancel button + auto-target for like.... a new way to target nearest enemy? Click cancel then space? Nah... They're just retarded.

Well, recently, Anet made some changes to primarily benefit themselves to help them make changes (Hero Battles obs. Mode) so perhaps they added that in to help themselves somehow.

However, if that isn't the case, I would like to meet the hopeless person who wanted that button...

------------------

The PvP changes are steering a little steadily towards the right direction, but a sharp turn is what we are aiming for here. C-Shot is back to its original energy, and some "bugs" were fixed. However, others were worthless attempts of Anet trying to force useless Elites on us for the 5th time:

Dwarven Battle Stance: There are already three very great Hammer skills that will forever dominate DBS. Especially in this metagame, where block-blind-blurred (BBB) reigns supreme over Melee-ers and ranged-profs (Ranger and Paragon). And most casters, when getting pummeled by a Hammer warrior, will KITE!!! Thus making DBS a lost-cause

Ride The Lightning: No midliner should have to teleport to a target just to deal damage, especially one that causes Exhaustion. L-Orb and L-Hammer just tops it. Sorry.

Balthazars Pendulum: ..."Brace Yourself!" is a better skill than this will ever be, and not a lot of players even use "BY!" anymore (excluding maybe HA). It doesn't last long enough, you can never fully predict when the target will get knocked down, and Shatter/Drain Enchantment puts the target in a great amount of danger. It will NEVER be a worthy skill.

Food for Thought...

-----------

However, the PvE changes were great. I actually want to max out my PvE titles just to get these great skills. It even makes me want to make new professions. Now, make these skills applicable to Heroes and I will love PvE more.

I think RTL's use lies more in the ability of melee to pull tele-spike crap, especially since you could still run it with shock (albeit with the drawbacks of running so much exhaustion on one bar).

Why would anyone run this over Shadow Prison on a melee spiker? The only reason would either be shock or being able to use it every 5 sec, but exhaustion would kill you on both of those and using a 10-energy skill every 5 sec... yea... Maybe I'll go roll an ele with maxed air and energy storage, pull out a +30/-2 set, and go into RA and just teleport around like crazy for kicks...

The probably wouldn't, I'm simply pointing out the only scenario I can see RTL being even remotely useful. What would you want an elite offensive teleport for on a midliner anyway?

Cause they want Conjure Lightning too maybe?

Think of Euro-spike for example. Most teams had 2 W/A. Well replace one by W/E and give him Conjure + RtL. Adds significant damage (considering the conjure, potentially over 100) to the spike that will go through any kind of block or blind and gives you more pressure in between through conjure. Remember, you have a new adrenal based crit chop now, so energy isn't so bad.

Sure, it causes exhaustion, but if you just spike every 25s or so (Shatter Ench recharge) it won't stack fast. At worse slightly slow down, it's not really dramatic for the build and it can be better to have a stronger spike and slightly better pressure on a 5s slower recharge.

Also if someone else knocks in your team (say a Me/Mo with SoJ, it's pretty damn nice now!), having 2 W/E with Ride the Lightning and Conjure can make the spike REALLY powerful without having a hex giving away the target even more easily.

This build for example is pretty neat :

14 Axe
10 Air
9 Strength

Dismember
Agonizing Chop
Disrupting Chop
Bull's Strike
Conjure Lightning
Rush
Ride the Lightning

At 10 Air, RtL hits for 99 on 60AL and Conjure adds +17. So RtL->Dismember->Agonizing Chop is a really mean spike, and you got nice pressure in between with Bull's Strike, DChop and Conjure raising your damage. Ofc if possible someone else has to kd, but this can be really easy for example along a hammer warrior and can make a really powerful adrenal spike.

It really makes me wonder if they read Ensign's post about skill balance, because if they did, not many suggestions were adopted, and pretty much all are considered and rejected even though they should've been adopted. Unless she's referring to PvE complaints about how earth magic doesn't do enough damage and proceeds to adopt their suggestion by buffing random earth skills...

To Anet: if you do actually read this post and can confirm that you've read and thought about Ensign's post, then post a response or something. At least it'll make me feel better and not think that you're all just talk and no action. I'm sure the rest of the serious PvP community feel this way too, as nearly all of your "balance" was aimed towards PvE'er suggestions it seems (like mesmer and paragon sucking in PvE, earth ele not doing enough damage, crappy warrior skills never being used)

oh COME ON...I understand your frustration but seriously its not that hard to tell the difference between something that takes up only a small percentage of your bar and one that chops off 1/5th.
