SpNv was using Siphon Strength
Scuz was using Shattering Assault
LS was using Moebius Strike sins

That's those i saw in the last days.

They're just an extra utility on your bar in case you need to reach someone without dying before you get there.
Aura of Displacement was the only balanced Elite shadow step in my opinion, and if Golden Phoenix got a buff this skill would go to the top again. It was good for starting an enchantment based offence, and good for escaping. But these days if you want a shadow step, Shadow walk in my fav right now, Pretty much AoD without am aftercast time, and doesn't waste an elite slot.

I've seen more people running AoD in the top now, but still running expose & black lotus/spider.

I saw a shattering assault assassin used by [MoFo], and to be honest it was disgusting to watch. The rest of their build was really innovative and fun to watch (SA sin, YAA war, mind blast ele, MOM blind bot with shock arrow, MoR mesmer, 2 monks, rit runner), but they were just training monks for full minutes with the sin and the war, and they were actually getting kills. It was like watching avatar of grenth again.

They're quite easier to shutdown and more fragile though. Did the other team had a DShot Ranger? Diversion Mesmer? I played enough Assassin to know that if the other team WANTS me shutdown at flagstand, i will be. At least my combo (stuff like Siphon Strength is harder to get rid of overall). You have to be kinda unpredictible with it if possible or out of their shutdown range, and training a monk seems like the worse way to achieve that.

If they have a Ranger, whenever they see the offhand go off they can DShot your Shattering Assault. Diversion Mesmer can kinda time it too. Or they can usually just pressure the sin outta there through direct damage.

Avatar of Grenth was overall much harder to control than a Shattering Assault sin TRAINING a target. If it's just well timed spikes that score kill... well that's what the build should do and i think it's a good reason to take a sin!
