Well, a monk can be good at many diffrent ways..
A person that never been playing monk is useless, maybe not that good.
But a monk that have been playing for a while, with great skills and so on, may be better then the other monk that never been playing. So my thought of this, monk is helpfull in AB in big groups, capping shrines and so on. I think monk is very helpfull in this.

People who is attacking the others don't know it is a monk in the group, they rush in and just want to capp and kill. They got not tactics for playing AB. You can't have any tactics because you are playing with 2 random teams, maybe 3 if you was invited at the AB place. So often people don't see it is a monk in the group. Then you just can stand behind your team, and just heal the best you can.

So monks are usefull, but not those who havn't got any good build or playing monks for their first time!
