Hey guys!

Sick of the crappy ATs and bad-matchups? Alright get this, Rebel Rising [rawr] has been approached by a professional company, Guildcafe Entertainment (guildcafe.com) with the opportunity to host a Guild Wars tournament for all levels of PvP. Yup, you better believe it, a real professional tournament on the level of what Arena Net itself hosts, including real-world prizes! Except this time, twice as much fun.

More details will be provided soon

Get ready for the best tourney since the GWFC!

I hope its gonna be prohpecies/core only, otherwise itll be just as much of a joke as anything anet provides.

One thing I'd like to mention is that Anet does not give outside companies rights to use their game for Tournaments. How they are going to get around that I don't know.

If GW was serious about competitive gaming Anet was have gotten involved in The Championship Gaming Tournments.

They don't have to. There have always been tournmants for Starcraft and such which I don't think need company approval.

...but NCSoft will probably request a sponsership or such.

Sounds good, the game was beginning to get a bit stale for me.

Sounds much better than the AT's that GW currently offers...

no need for core/prophecies only, just band trash skills completely.

And paragons, but that doesn't need to be said.

looking forward to it

sounds v.nice. I suppose the guilds themselves will choose which level of competition they want to play in? if a skill restriction is involved for the tournament(s) then it will be back to winning by skill and not rock paper scissors

If I could get my guildmates to reinstall, if you can cut out all the trash, and if you can convince the good guilds to come back I'll play. =/

I've already spoken with Arena Net, and they were more then happy for us to host this tournament. They've even offered their support with this project once we can finalize details. We're all really excited about it ^.^

best of luck -- please make this a success, maybe ArenaNet will see how the game SHOULD be without imbalanced skills. maybe good guilds will return to the game, maybe something will happen..D: if not, enjoy your good times.

go rawr!~

If this will be core skills/prof, StP will play for sure. Anyway, good luck to you. Its nice to see that some players are doing better job than the developer. Now if they only would give us software to run our own servers :P

I don't want to seem overeager, but is there anything happening with this or has it died? Status updates ftw

Being overeager in this topic isn't exactly a bad idea methinks.

[rawr] has been working on this and hopes to be bringing you the first tournament in conjunction with guildcafe.com in September. guildcafe has hopes of getting an extremely high number of guild wars players involved so look for the tournies to be alot of fun. More info coming in the next couple weeks.
