Enemy monks or things that give your monks trouble. Or perma-frenzy warriors

personally I'm a mesmer hater...I'll take them down first, almost always, if they show any signs of skill. Helping out my monk is usually first priority though

An effective enemy to target is a mix of;

a) the easiest to deal damage to
b) likely to undermine the enemy offense the most (if defending)
c) likely to break the enemy defence (if attacking)
d) most related to objectives

Mesmers, for example, are often priorities as they can pressure your monks, are lighter armored (and thus you deal more damage, forcing more out of their monks), and have to stop and cast to do their job. The most viable target, as per the rough points above, changes often depending on the state of the match.

DP the hard rez over monks, especially if its on something like a mesmer that cant hide in the backlines.

Also bind one of your spare mouse buttons to CTRL+Shift+Space to you can call without giving the target away or losing your position.

thats what i had a problem with in the beginning, because i always used to doubleclick the name to call and that gave it away almost always against good monks :P

Always let your people talk, let them speak when they did something ingame (interupt got a d-shot or diversion).
Always help out your monks if they get to much pressure.
If you run a good balance you can find solutions versus everything, so when your tactic is not working you need to change it, play more aggrisive things like that, finding solutions can be easy on normal 1v1 but things like king of the hill or cap points you need to think a bit faster, and maybe you don't come up with an idea fast enough just ask your team or discuss it after the battle, always think of solutions. Every balanced build can beat any other build, you just need to think of solutions, know what builds your team is play, know what that build can do.
If someone in your team does something wrong you just tell them, but don't only shout that he is doing things wrong, explain them what to do instead, don't blame people to much.

Let your ppl talk indeed, but U got to make sure ppl know WHO is the leader, otherwise chaos will follow. Also, get it clear to your people who has to do what part...

Mesmer => Shutdown offence or defence?
Para's => Pressure or spirit hunt?
Ele's => Monks, scaring of offensive (Melee) or spirit hunt?
Monk => Backline or use channeling?

Etc, YOU are the leader, give then directions, they should know what to do by you giving them simple orders, if not, it's they who fail, NOT you; )

I can see where you're coming from, but in reality that is really limiting. Basically, one player is never going to be in a position to know exactly what all 8 players on his team should be doing, so if you are trying to do it you know it won't work out. As long as everyone on the team knows what you're trying to achieve they should be able to make the decision for themselves as to what is best for them to do.

I would say that at lower ranks, with lower levelled skill players, having one person dictate every move of every player (or atleast telling them exactly who to be on, what to do etc.) is possibly a good idea, as atleast it should mean everyone is on the same wavelength. But, this is extremely limiting, as how well you can is limited completely to how well your person calling strat can macro.

In terms of target calling, it is all related. You need to know what is hurting you, and similarly what hurts them. You then need to decide which is more beneficial at the time, to hinder what's hurting you or to hurt them. It is different for every situation, but you should always try and be aware of of how much pressure you're taking and how well pressured they are.

first of all, first target should never be something with 80+ armor. So para's warrs and maybe rangers (vs elemental) come as last targets. Target softies, those who can do most harm to your team, that's mesmers/necros. Or monks to cut their healing/prot line and they just drop like flies. when the monks are down, kill other softies (ele's , then maybe rit's, but they cant do much harm nowdays) and then high armor targets.

Call fast, when something falls, switch targets and dont wait for the last target to get rezzed. Just keep calling and killing. Then in the middle of the battle, focus on DP'ed players and keep dropping them. If they have 1 or 2 down, search for hard rezzers and try to drop them, so they run out of sigs, and it's probably GG. And dont attack pets (iway) on chars that are secondary rangers. For thumpers, killing a pet is a good way to shut him down for some time.

So just focus on low armors, trouble makers, overextenders and DP'ers and you should do fine.

The only thing i worry about is when i call a [spike] and they have DA/aegis up it kind of makes the caller most of the time useless/maybe not completely but imo it does hinder it, do you guys see it that way or is it just me.

Get some interrupts on the aegis-user and gg, it's really not that hard. If you got a mesmer, it's a piece of piss.

interupt DA and remove Aegis, or interupt both it that is possible with the build you are using.

Not sure how others do it, but you can easily do it using a macro program like autohotkey or something.

Autohotkey is free and easy to use.

1. Go google autohotkey and download it.

2. right-click somewhere, select new autohotkey script

3. erase the tutorial stuff that's in it, and type
^{space}::^+{space}

4. Make sure to run (double-click) the script every time before playing.

That should work, don't have autohotkey on my computer right now so I can't test it. It would bind control space to control shift space. If you want to do an extra button on your mouse, then try XButton1 or XButton2 instead of the first ^{space}. You'll have to figure out which button corresponds to each label though.
