Default PvE characters!

why are there so many pve characters doing ab ? surely there should be more PvP characters like the rest of PvP on guild wars.

i mean with PvP you can :
  • Be able to modify weapons
  • Buy skills using faction ,which you get from abs
  • If you've unlocked all runes , put them on your armour..for free

so why do so many use pve characters for ab ?

Because some people have PvE characters with runes, good weapons, and enough skills. It's not like you need every skill. If I want, I can take my ranger into AB, and she'll do just as well as a PvP character. Why? Because my weapons and armor are just as good as the one a PvP character can get.

I couldn't really say... It may because that AB is more easily accessible to PvE players - and has tangible PvE benefits/rewards, such as Jade or the Luxon/Kurz skills - therefore attracting PvE players, who don't regularly do PvP, and don't have (space for...) a PvP char.

Or, as a more casual format, people can't really be assed to roll a PvP char whenever they just wanna dip in for a quick AB. I dunno.

Personally? I like kicking ass in style My PvE ele's all pimped out in pink Vabbian, and he's got the whole collection of shields and crap.

You have a weird question. Of course people always want to bring their PvE characters to play, because of their role playing name, cooler gear and weapons, etc..
And it is AB, a non-serious and very low level pvp. In GvG, for instance, you have to go with best armors, rune and weapons as possible, but I can bring a character with Major Vigor and non customized weapon to AB and it is not much of a difference.

AB is more PvE than PvP. Why should they not bring PvE chars?

Let's see, in AB...
1) You kill NPCs
2) You run a lot around
3) If you PvP (kill other players) it's a waste of time and you lose the game for that

AB doesn't require equipment which is flawless. that's the reason. basically all you need for AB is a max weapon with random mods, maybe not so random if it's ele mod for conjure and whatever, but for the rest it doesn't make changes. same with armor really. you could go in without runes and without insignia and still do good.

and besides, PvE is all about showing off skins, if you suck too much to get reward points, you use PvE. personally i stopped using my PvE and just do everything with PvP now, cba sorting all the storage crap on my PvE with 1650246 bows, 65116 shields, 7371361 caster weapons and whatnot. -_-

Maybe you should watch some high end PvP. Like....[Cry]...Scotty's decked in FoW, and the monk (can't remember the name) was decked in Kurz 15k.
If you have perf weapon customized, with perfect armor, then by all means take a pve char into pvp.

Hell, my pve ranger is much better equipment wise than 75% of the PVP rangers I see in AB

I use pvp chars mostly because it's far more convenient setting up armor and equipment. There is one exception: Ranger, because I can't get a dire pet with a pvp char.

I bought enough character slots for one of each profession, I don't want to either delete one, or buy a new character slot, in order to create a PvP character.

If people play the game the way it's meant to be played, a PvE character can accrue a wide variety of max weapons with max, or near max modifiers while travelling through a campaign, from collector's max equipment to end-game greens so they're fine for PvP use in my opinion.

My PvE char is perfect, and I need to remind people of this as much as possible by using it in PvP.

It's that kinda mindset, basically. That or 'I DUNNO HOW2PVP CHAR LULZ'.

My character has everything I would get or need if I made a pvp character. Why waste the time in rerolling an entire pvp character when my pve one is just as good. If I decide to play something I don't have a pve character for, that's what my extra slots are for.

3 reasons

1. i paid $50 bucks for the game ill take my PvE char anywhere i want dont tell me that i shouldnt because PvP chars a better {rage}

2. You dont need every single skill or rune for AB its for fun

3. Mindset- people will disagree with me on this one but i play better on a character iv had longer for some reason(love my origional prof necro)

It feels so empty playing a pvp char I just created. I prefer playing my pve char whom I have spent alot of time and effort on.

i personally use my fully decked out ranger for AB, so there are no performance issues.

however, i believe most of the pve characters in AB are less than perfectly equiped. more easy kills for me i guess.

Meh, everyone knows the standard of AB is pretty low. I ABed with pve chars way before they had perfect armor/runes/equipment and it wasn't like I was getting owned all the time then. I've got basically every skill i need for AB on my war, and my necro can do almost every build now too. Having got them to that stage and then using them in pvp is a lot more satisfying than making a char over 2 mins, and slapping some skills u've unlocked on them...

If you have access to everything you need, what difference does it make? I decided the moment I saw PvP character armor choices that I wanted to be able to use my PvE characters in PvP and never need PvP-only characters. I have succeeded, and while I have been called a PvE-noob for it before, I have yet to hear a valid reason why I should do anything differently.
