Moriz - "so, does that means all these "special" activation times also include a .25s aftercast? if that's the case, i'm sure my dshot's aftercast is much longer than .25s."

I'd guess it's between 1.5 and 1.75(PBAoE-style) seconds on Ranger interrupts since you have time to M-Touch while dazed afterwards. Although, according to Wiki it's .75 seconds...

Stretch it, but don't stretch it all the way across the screen. You want to be able to react as fast as possible, and that requires as little eye movement as possible when determine skill usage and progress. Stretching the bar across the screen will basically force you to pan your eyes, and therefore lengthen the time it takes for you to recognize and process cast times/skills. A good stretch is to make the bar 3-5 inches across, to the point where you can comfortably see the entire bar without shifting your eyes.

No, the .25s is referring to the afterswing, not the aftercast. For example, with dshot, the arrow is fired .25s into the animation or casting bar and the other .25s of the animation or casting bar is the afterswing of the bow being fired.

Actually, the "casting bar" fills in .25s; the afterswing isn't even included in it. I elaborated on that earlier.

I think what Relambrien says is true, I tried to capture it, but the arrow only leaves after bar is filled. It's good to know, I always thought the arrow was shot at 0.5 seconds. It would be good to see that changed, as the activation times indeed appears to be 0.25 secs

Okay, now I get this thread where you wrote Agonizing Chop is the death of the Sword Warrior and other funny things like "If asked to choose between Agonizing Chop and Executioner's Strike, any smart Warrior would pick Agonizing 100% of the time for ANY Axe bar".

Satire is hard to get.

GW?

Really best "train" it ingame. Reflexes first of all are automated responses over which the person has little control, like the knee jerk (they cant really be improved. Responses will be improved by imprinting skill names and icons into the mind and prioritize the response to them (twitch distracting shot). This will get better over time as the amount of nerves involved will be reduced or the sensitivity will be altered. You will not help the twitch distracting shot response (much) by training on catching rulers from the ceiling, as they are different inputs combined with different outputs.

another interesting thing to do is daze a monk (broad head arrow or something) and keep attacking the monk but press tab until you find another primary target who thinks the interupter is focused on the monk (say a spiteful spirit necromancer) and when he uses a key skill hit distracting shot or whatever youre using and watch how youre instant switch interupt irritates

I'm sure it's already been said, but the very best thing you can do to increase the amount of interrupts you get on targets you're trying to interrupt is to stand as close to them as possible at all times.

As for improving your reflexes, just go to RA or TA or something and focus on interrupting key things.

I still think that's very debatable, even if I did wrongly word the thread to seemingly state that all of Sword's problems actually have to do with A-chop.

The ranger interrupts are only 0.25s? That does not make sense, then why would the skill description say it is 0.5?? Who cares about the animation, there is an "aftercast" anyway.
My ranger sux because I usually have 0.3-0.4s ping which pretty much kills my super fast 0.18s reaction time (I measured it out of frustration). WTB lag correction system for GW!!!

ranger interupt is more about anticipating if your going to go for under 1 second casts.
if your upclose 1 second is possible to interupt if you wait for skill and thats me with like average 200 ping.

Mesmer interupt takes a little bit of anticipation if your going for like the 3/4 and half casts, 1 second cast for mesmers is usually cake.

Gotb helps for practice hf =)

The best advice I could give you
1. position yourself fairly close to casters closest to the one your team would prefer to shut down as much as possible
2. spread posion without wasting skills (TAB + SPACEBAR)
3. hover mouse over general area of targets
4. WATCH for animations!
5. either click on or press "C" (closest target) and use your skill
6. Predict, predict, predict
other than that if its just one taget in RA or something just stand on top of him if u have to the closer the better just for interupting sake

Thats what i do. Also your auto attacks, or movement soemtimes can delay your chance of getting the interupt you may need to stand still in order to get fast skills

Other options:: Switch to Mor mes with this Build for practice

MOR [E] // Power Leak // Power Spike // Power Drain // Complicate // Leech Sig // Cry of Frustration // Rez Just pick a target and have fun

-OR-

PD[E] // Channeling // Rez
