Nerf Paragons and then shields up, make SoD last shorter and/or increase the recharge.

Me/E with MoR Ward is still interruptable (though you have to have <100ms ping) and they HAVE to run a glyph or they get shat on by other mesmers that don't pack wards, usually Drain Enchant is dropped for this and you don't take a res sig on the bar.

18 min VoD is stupid, push this back to at least 25 min.

Paragon damage needs to be toned down in some way or other as well, it's ridiculous how much damage they do considering they can't really be preprotted against and ignore wards. When you nerf paragons you can nerf passive defense.

Izzy needs to bite the bullet and nerf mel dervs, if he wants dervs to see play in gvg he can try work it out later.

There are a few rit weapon spells that are still overpowered, eg warmongers...

Assassins dagger skills need to be nerfed and their shadow/deadly skills buffed so that they don't kill people like the way they do now (see sp sin).

Melody Cross, mesmers are still pretty effective at disrupting the opposing teams backline, I don't really see what skills you would buff for mesmers apart from possibly gale.

Rangers are pretty terrible at the flagstand 75% of the time because of shields up, I can't imagine how bad they must be in mid-low tier gvg where they can basically get shutdown for the entire match by aegis chains etc... if they don't have good midline players.

VoD is far too short to accomplish anything on split, with the blockway meta it's too short for a flagstand battle against decent teams. Even when GvG was about offense flagstand battles would easily last 20 minutes when good teams faced each other. In addition to increasing the time it takes til vod comes something needs to be done about enabling splits more in gvg. Atm people basically just run a tank runner who can heal and prot all the npc's and there's little you can do with skirmish characters. Stuff like SoR needs to not be maintainable or else it should be interruptible.

AT's are basically killing gvg with vod being shortened so that AT's don't last as long and then giving people little to no reason to play on the ladder (a few people care about champ pts I guess), most teams would be better off just finding scrims. If anything there should just be a monthly AT where the top 16 or so on the ladder can enter. I would suggest a large tourney like GWWC but I doubt that's likely, and if GW pvp was saved the community could probably get in cpl or something (i know gud 1)

I thought I was clear Vaga. Sry.

Buff enchant strips and energy denial. Reduce their recharge and possibly run a test weekend to see what would happen if some enchant strips could also remove shouts or chants; 1 of the three instead of just enchantments. Which would be more effective to remove at VoD? Shields Up or the ele's Air attune? If thats the target you want to kill, I'd be betting that you'd rather rip off that protective buff.

I know that shouts and chants were never intended to be stripped, but I don't think they were ever intended to be spammed 6 deep on your team either. Reactive--post-cast removal--disruption of these skills would go a long way to reducing the wall that players can build for themselves right now.

It is either to nerf the skill line into oblivion--which I do not approve of; I very much dislike the constant nerf calling from GW players--or provide a means to counter them after they have been cast.

Its not that mesmers need to be buffed to disrupt a backline better. I agree, they can mess up monks quite well. Its all the other prots--midline prot--that they can't do much or anything about.

This is NOT directed to the above poster.

That being said, there's some people who shouldn't be allowed to even think about balancing stuff.
If I was in charge in ANET, I'd just hire Ensign.....

well,

since the op is a creditable source this was obviously gonna turn out into a skill thread, I'm i agree the dynamic of gvg are way out of wack now.

so lets spooge about skills,

or not

Why do these conversations always seem to turn into monk wars?

because the whole meta revolves around what monks can and can not handle.

Page 3 was so argumentative p4 got me depressed.

The personal ideas of what the game should be like are giving me a headache.

RC is for condition stacks, thats it. For a singular heal on a DW MC is better, unless enchanted, the DC.

SigoD is and will always be trash, you get a free 77 heal if running 11, and if u need to lose 70 points off your big heal for e management, your obviously running aegis, wards, bsurge, and sod. Which is why the current, meta fails. You just dont need to run above a 9 prot imo, unless you read need to stack your soas.

LOL, if it was only the SPEED of gift that made it good, LOL.

YES MONKS HAVE BEEN CRUSHED, if you think your lod/rc or/sod backline was 1/10000 as good as dual boon prots were go back to w/e game your were playing when boon prots where running, what a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing joke. THE only reason boon prots would get rocked in this meta, and they would, is cause of the overwhelming spammability's of hexes. Its way out of control.

Honestly the overall games were better when it was 30 mins, but all those thoses that faced the koreans the game was over b4 18 mins. Except for 1 teams who exploited a flaw with the monks.

the only good class they added was the paragon and they made it way over powered.

They should have made all new classes and skills off the boon prot, what was way over the top, what was weak, what would work ok.

LET ME SAY THIS CLEARLY SO NOONE IS IN DOUBT. THE HIGH OF SKILL IN THIS GAME WAS BEFORE FACTION CAME OUT, EVERYTHING ELSE IS BASED ON A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF ONE BUILD OR ANOTHER.

No top team could ever face those top teams.

EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER. All those teams has 60/64 skills, hyperbole, the same, and it was about who was better. Now its SHIT.

every skill you buff or nerf now enhances another, the game is broken.

Haha....uhh what? I don't even see how that compares...3 skills, 2 of which are maintained enchantments and one which most certainly will overheal for 12 energy...

...versus a cheap, quick recharge, quick casting, terrific prot skill?

A gigantic heal versus a staple prot skill? Not really sure what you're going on here...

I think that in 4 months we will receive information that they have looked them, and they still think.

My hopes aren't very high to them release a skill balance before 2007 turns to 2008.
