I'm happy that you've found a niche that you enjoy. I, on the otherand, have been playing for almost two years and have played one total GvG match . GvG is not "what this game is about" for me at all.

GvG is the MOST supported PvP gametype, because its most popular, and most skill intensive, so imbalances are VERY easy to spot because its easy to see when a good player is losing to a bad player (subjective in terms of skill), just because the mere activation of a skill gives great advantages, and not skilled activation of a skill.

/end aside

A few things I forgot to mention in my previous posts.

The paragons in AB DONT have infinite energy, its only +4 per shout/chant, and most of them are energy skills anyway, not adren but you do have 2 pips, and the +4 helps e-manage, but your not infinte anymore like you are in the 8v8 arenas.

Cruel spear is just BAD, I cant believe some of you considered using it. relying on someone to stand still is just BAD.

No one takes effective counters to paragons or rangers in AB, but thats because you dont need to, because how often will you see a group of 4 paragons / rangers that know what they are doing? 99.9% of the time you will see some retard build, or some idiot assassin that thinks he can solo you, organized play in AB doesnt happen that much, and only reason it should is because someone is bored, and wants to beat up on some pve'ers.

speaking of rangers in AB: there's the other extremely effective template that nobody really knows. that is four rangers: 1 burning arrow with holy veil, and 3 cripshots with sloth hunter's shot. i did it once with a few friends, and we just 321 rangerspiked everything to death. not to mention, cripshots and burning arrow rangers are also the most durable and adaptable solo templates in the AB environment. so we can easily do a four way split if we feel the need (or just feel the urge to).

but i digress. 4 paragon groups are very effective in AB because they are excellent party buffers combined with very good DPS. put them together and they can mow through just about everything.

paragons fail in alot of aspects- horrible addition to the game

the only place of a paragon is a support char (usually 1, sometimes 2) on a balanced team to provide passive defense as well as some extra dps and usually a bit of offensive buffs

groups full of paragons are retarded, paraspike in hoh and ive seen a para group in RA before, pretty annoying nub builds imo, way too much defense and slow kills

The build should do ok damage I think (I'm no paragon expert). No IAS though .

In our guild we usually go in AB with 4 paragons as they are the best AB class around. They are just understimated.

Recently I've been toying around with a Paragon in AB, and I've found one build that seems to work well constantly.(Though, I have been playing with experienced people.)

[skill]Focused Anger[/skill][skill]Aggressive Refrain[/skill][skill]"Go for the Eyes!"[/skill][skill]Barbed Spear[/skill][skill]Holy Spear[/skill][skill]Blazing Spear[/skill][skill]Anthem of Envy[/skill][skill]"Fall Back!"[/skill]

Yeah, not much, but it has good conditional pressure and tears through the large amount of Minion Masters running around and the very rare Rit with spirits.

If I am with guildies I bring a spear chucker with Angelic Bond. Cast it on the bond monk and we become pretty hard to kill. Playing with randoms...well, I just take apply poison, focused anger, barbed spear, maiming spear, and natural stride. Play it like a ranger.

paras are really weak in 4 man teams. They have to be used in 8man teams usually to actually do something useful.

para spikes do not work in ab well since they are easily countered by simple dodging of arrows as well as blocking.4 paragons will not pull off a lot of dmg against high armored units and 4 paragons have a pretty weak dmg output if u actually compare it to 3 sins all with dancing daggers. a 4man para spike also lacks a healer, and shout heals dont pull off enough heal power to counter a real spike.

I've been running around with a P/R conditions Para. I just use:

[card]Heket's Rampage[/card][card]Barbed Spear[/card][card]Merciless Spear[/card][card]Blazing Spear[/card][card]Poisonous Bite[/card][card]Heal As One[/card][card]Remedy Signet[/card][card]Charm Animal[/card]

I run no major or sup runes except a sup vigor, and survivor runes. I'm at 640 health, and Heal As One heals for 121 health every 8 seconds. It can't kill as fast as an SP sin, but it can take out one. I don't tank, but I can take a lot of damage and keep on fighting.

The glaring weakness, however, is a lack of a speed boost.

Mr PvPer:

You are tremendously wrong. A very well-constructed paragon team is brutal. Please do not misguide the people in this thread. That said, the only problem is that such a group doesn't splinter well. Outside of a structured group, Paragons are definitely best in AB as warrior secondary damage platforms with a handful of utility skills. A lot of the Eye of the North skills are tremendously powerful in AB, and a lot of warrior skills are very useful for a paragon. My elite of choice is "You're All Alone!," because most paragon elites are junk in AB.

A well constructed paragon team will be brutal in AB only against teams that are NOT well constructed. While this is usually a safe assumption to make in AB, coming across another decently constructed team quickly makes the all paragon build pretty useless.

Going in for some random AB a few days ago on monk with guildies, we came across ranger and paragon teams. Kiting+blocking shredded the pressure, and shields up/SoD, even gaurdian, made the opposing team flee with minimal damage.

While all paragon or all ranger teams can be killer in AB when played and organized well, lets be honest. Any decent build will be killer in AB when played and organized well -_-
