But really, to me, buffing the conditional healing would have made more sense.
WoH is only good now because it's actually already efficient if you don't hit the conditional. Your version would make it bad without the conditional again. It would kill it.

But I'm ok with that.

No, WoH is good now because they went insane buffing it.

1) It can now self target

2) The unconditional heal competes with ZB and Heal other on healing power. At similar specs you are looking at a total of 30 less healing than Heal other or ZB for 5 energy without any of the conditional bonuses.

3) If you trigger the condition, it is just crazy energy efficient power healing.

Elites should be good, but this is just so overbuffed it kicks all other monk elites in the balls. The WoH monk has something we haven't had since the Boon Prot. Massive bars go up power combined with tons of space for prot.

At any rate, I think the conditional and unconditional healing numbers should be swapped around, at the least.

Yeah, it's good because of 1 and 3, but if it didn't have 2 it would still be pretty bad. That's my point.

So if WoH is great now, how come several of the GvG monks I noticed weekend have tried the new improved WoH and are now using Glimmer bars? No they are not nubs, but two of em were LoD/Infuse before the update, and I guess they hate the new LoD.

I don't Monk in 8v8 myself, but I am quite curious and will ask around but thought I would start here. All can see is Glimmer is faster cast/recharge for a lesser heal, but it's non-conditional.

A lot of teams are experimenting with the new monk elites, especially on ladder. This leads to people running suboptimal bars like Glimmer and Healer's Boon.

Understand, most top 100 teams don't care about ladder play, and a big update like this always puts the meta into flux. Expect GvG monk bars to stabilize soon, as they always do.

Glimmer has now gotten into the range of 'Playable', but is vastly outclassed by WoH.

Glimmer is bad.

I'd say WoH is too, but it's good as of the moment. I just don't like the way it's replacing LoD.

WoH is really good, people probably wouldnt run it over LoD if it was unnerfed because party healing is so strong (read: neccesary) it has already replaced ZB on monk runners/split monks.

That makes not only doesn't make sense, paragons also dont need any buffs.

woh is ok as it is. It's powerful but not imbalanced in the current metagame. Nerfing it would make it useless again.

I do like the new WoH in the 8v8 fight, but I wish that it didn't make using a monk runner so attractive. It's similar to the ZB monk runner, but has way more tactical potential, and gives you a solid, no strings attached, three monk backline when it's 8v8. I also wish that glimmer was still more of a viable alternative, either through a buff to it, or a (relatively small) nerf to WoH.

Different view on what 'playable' is. In your opinion, it's only playable if you can play it in this metagame. In my opinion, it's playable if the skill isn't bad, but it's overshadowed by other skills that you would rather choose.

If you gimp yourself by taking a skill it's not playable, the fact that you can get away with this at rank bad doesn't change this.

After playing a bit, I really like the fact that LoD was destroyed.

The game has moved away from spike towards pressure, and pressure is generally more rewarding to skill. Also, more deaths and move changes in who is controlling the game.

Plus, my reaction-time sucks, so I've always hated spike.
