BA is bad. Magebane can't be blocked.

BA iz gud.
Have you ever played a ranger or played with a ranger on vent? It's pretty common to hear "LoD d-sho....BLOCKED?!?!??!"

Plus shorter recharge means more ability to interrupt.

Loving the buff to magebane. So frustrating in the past to think youve interupted something crucial only to get blocked by shields up or DA.

L...o...D?! What is LoD?

In all seriousness, yeah magebane is quite good but with sins nerfed and flagger bars up in the air, BA splits should see a boost; not so sure that magebane is strictly better than BA.

Yes, we've finally fixed SR exploiting, let's give it more room to be exploited again.

The question is whether it can justify not having cripshot. Not having BA can be justified by bringing Sloth Hunter's Shot, Screaming Shot, or... well, Cripshot.

D-shot is too good to be replaced by anything that's actually balanced.

Magebane's purpose is more in replacing Savage Shot.

It may be an elite dshot, but what's cooler than having two Dshots?

Having cripshot in gvg at least. Megabane is going to be pretty amazing in the arenas though

I must admit the last few updates are kind of a dream come true.
I can now bring 2 Dshots and 2 RoFs.
Now all I need is 2 Diversions and 2 Bull's Strikes.

Cripple shot is still the best elite out there for rangers for GvG and AB, but Magebane does give burning arrow a kick in the arse and takes second place. But this is from the viewpoint that rangers are a utility and disrruption proffession.

Magebane is a great boost to arena rangers, (where cripple shot is not as effective), but does this mean BHA will fall out of grace?

magebane is very good, but as long as cripshot exists, magebane probably won't find its way onto a ranger's bar.

there's been some talk of running it on a mesmer. while it would work in theory, swapping to a bow to interrupt something is a bit different from swapping to a wand/off hand set. main reason being that ranger bow interrupts are slower than normal mesmer interrupts.

There's been some talk of running it on a warrior, since warriors are only an inch away from the opponents.

lololol.

Cripshot is redundant in AB because you can just bring Pin Down. There isn't enough blocking or condition removal there to render it ineffective, you can keep it up forever with a cripple mod, and then you can bring BA anyway and kill things.

Well, Pin down has a long recharge, so your can't subdue mobs with it, and is ineffective if it's removed.

it's mitch's idea. ask him about it.

cripshot is far more effective in AB than burning arrow. there are already plenty of damage sources, so the ability to spread some snares is much more valuable than another source of burning. if you are really starved for damage, use sloth hunter's shot.

For Mass cripple as R/D, your better off going Grenth's Grasp and called shot.

the point was having magebane shot and a semi-spammable cripple that might in a small way offset the loss of crip shot... its obviously not perfect but it could be a good compromise.

edit: actually on second thoughts its crap lol... doesnt last long enough and can be easily stripped.
