Default Good bye dear Deadly Paradox

It was so fun to spam to shadowstep from one target to another, knocking people down and distributing conditions.

I will miss the dagger spam and popping 100 damage with toxic shock. It was nice to see a 3 digit number on GW. It was nicer seeing someone die after you used it.

I will miss just pressing Paradox and Dancing Daggers until my target fall dead, optimally with him trying to run away while I shoot him in the back. Unblockable ranged damage was unblockable and (half)ranged.

I will miss running around with a monk staff, it was silly and fun. Not being A/mo will be sad. Daggers seen so unnatural now...

Dear Lame Paradox... I loved you with all my sinful heart.

It still works fine (read: too well). You just can't roll your face on the keyboard any more.

I was going to say that you can still run it on an E/A with Ether Prodigy/Iron Palm, but then I didn't.

No... Lame Paradox was perfect in it's cheese-ness. It had everything. Spammable, high damage and knockdown. You could -almost- fell the enemy punching his keyboard in frustation.

Using a half-baked version of the build would just make the pain bigger... a pale shadow of it former self. No, no... I prefer to revive it only in the memories.

Sometimes you would see a A/mo on the other team, and it was a rush to see who would knockdown the other first and lame it down.

It make me sad to think I may never say "Learn to Paradox" anymore.

For a second I started to think if you traded Monk to another class it could still work. Elementalist would be the natural choice due to the large mana pool you could get.

But E/A isn't the same of A/mo. A/mo had EVERYTHING.

You had a naturo-esque guy wearing a cape and a staff, you had a SILLY casting animation. You pooped from target to target and could do the Robot afterward.

Can you do it with a Elementalist? NO! Elementalist always used staffs and had high damage anyway. E/A is just.. a build.

Lame Paradox was amazing because it was lame, creative and cheesy, like making a dagger monk and actually winning.

A/Me is fine, only 2 knockdowns but Energy Drain helps you kill monks and totally screws up other sin casters

I'm actually not keen on the nerf. It just turns easily abuseable and frustrating crap that's everywhere into tremendously expensive and frustrating crap that's not really worth using. I dunno. When the folks on guru and everyone else were speaking of a nerf to Paradox, I was kind of hoping for something like, oh, a 20 second recharge, and your next 1...2 non-enchantment assassin skills activate and recharge 33% faster, which might've made it a tactically interesting skill. You know, something that might improve the Shadow Arts and Deadly Arts line without breaking stuff. I think someone else made that proposition, maybe Riotgear? So I do think this nerf does kind of suck, not because it basically nerfs the Assacaster out of play, which is a good thing, but because I think it could've been a fascinating tactical option, and now it's just crap. Ah well.

to be honest, it was good when it was used properly however signet of toxic shock is just far to lame, it makes the old lame builds and at times even iway look pro, im sorry but for the benifit of pvp blanace this had to be nurfed / have some balance, just for the good of the game, now its back to the w/r varients with para backline which is quite easily beatbale with a decent balanced team, the thing with builds like the a/mo is that they require little or no skill and really arnt real builds, running a key position in a balanced build however is far harder, and far more effective when done properly, and these lame builds such as the a/mo have no effectiveness in different balance of maps, they just fame farm a few of them.

My suggestion was to remove the skill disable and make it affect the next non-attack skill only. I stand by that being a better solution.

Nerfs are bad. Stop the hate.

Paradox was what all builds in GW strive to be, it was good. It was unique and creative, it was lethal and swift. It was, for me, what every build in GW try to be and the devs, one day, wanted people to achieve.

It is a reminder if your build is *really* good, it will be hunted down. For everything it was, the Sin itself was still pretty easy to kill so it wasn't a free ride.

Now I am back to melee, being kited by a ranger or blinded by a Ele, unable to kill a monk or a warrior and I am still fragile as a caster. My long-ass chain can be broken and my melee damage is, oddly, lesser then my ranged one.

I guess eventually, everybody will float toward what Rangers are. A low damage class with hard-to-use interrupts. Something which is fine because no one can win with it.

But maybe you are right.. maybe I am a bad player and Deadly Paradox was the only way to shine in the fast-paced, skill-filled game in which you surely dominate.

Maybe I need some help, profissional maybe? I need to train my reflex, study builds, wake up early and have balanced meals to make sure I can counter that 1/4 sec cast spell in time and precog what build I will face so I can adapt on the fly.

But, alas, poor me. Anything harder then 12345 is too much. I like it simple and efficient, and if the enemy is knocked in the same place all that better.

No, no... I am bad and I need my crutch. Please Anet.. think of the bad players.

We need to have fun too.

Don't worry. The black mantis combo is still pretty broken

Wow, I can't believe so many people are whining about this nerf. I say good bye and good riddance to another button mashing sin build. Even with the adjustments it's still overplayed.
Tripple KD every few seconds with no effort required is not balanced in pvp. I'm wondering why they let it go for so long in the first place.
If you like button mashing so much go run a spirit spammer ffs.
