Love it when people call me out for 1v1 when I'm on my support paragon who has no damage. Oh yeah paragon that has almost no solo ability vs warrior or assassin, can't wait. Then they shout profanities as I use "Fall Back!" to run away, find a group and help the group kill everything in its path, including them.

My favourite version of that was "I'd pwn u if i could hit u!" from a warrior who died from bleeding+poison with his heal sig d-shotted, while i ran around him in circles.

I also had an assassin who called me a "coward" while I was playing a YAA W/A. He shadow prisoned me, so i can cancelled my shadow of haste and jumped a full radar back before taking his combo in the face. A minute later he tried to do it again... with the same result. Then he started swearing at me.
I absolutly LOVE playing rangers in FA for that exact reason. I remember this one warrior who was on the Luxon side (I was Kurzick). I kept pinning him down and doing the standard apply+burning arrow+screaming shot on him the whole time. I even d-shoted his heal sig. The whole time he kept shouting at me "Quit running noob!" and "I would've won if I could hit you noob!". Every so often I'd humor him and stop and let him catch up. The minute he would be within melee range, up goes Whirling Defense. Also more towards the end of that fight, he yelled: "Kartok, stop condition spamming me you noob!". He wasn't even fighting me, he was busy killing Gunther. We lost that match, but it was still funny to witness.

I remember also one time with my assassin in FA (I was on Luxon side that time) when I had AoD up and I was getting slaughtered. I think I was down to about 30 health or so and some mesmer shattered AoD. I went from the green gate all the way back to the commander's place. I ended up regening at that point.

my guild was doing !v!s yesterday just for the hell of it. almost everyone was using a warrior or assasin, so i came up with a dervish build that i took down 3 warriors with in less than a minute.

just use dawanya, riposte, deadly riposte, shield bash, gash, healsig, and mystic regen + faithful intervention.

1v1s are rediculous. with my FoW solo ele build i could sit in a battle for 10 minutes without even getting below 3/4s health.

1vs 1 is retarded concept in gw, well unless u two have same build, then it would be skill and timing. I like to 1 on 1 enemy boa spikers when i do boa spike, then its just fun, see who will kill the other first .

The only time I can think of a 1v1 ever being viable in guild wars, is dodgeball.

You do realise that that's is a 1v1 build you posted? And gash without beeding except for Deadly Riposte..how are you supposed to kill casters?

I almost feel sorry for people who justify their lameness with saying they can "own joo 1v1". Anyone who has even figured out the basics behind guild wars knows that a 1v1 fight proves nothing in terms of how usefull the builds used are.

If people realised that being Rambo in AB is always the first to die, maybe AB's experience will improve.

Yea, 1 vs 12 plus like 2-3 elite npcs always becomes a laugh fest.

Then the standard "omg you f*****s diddn't help me!" insults come out.

I've been playing AB alot recently with my W/Mes build. It goes like this;

[skill=card]"You're All Alone!"[/skill][skill=card]Deadly Riposte[/skill][skill=card]Gash[/skill][skill=card]Galrath Slash[/skill][skill=card]Elemental Resistance[/skill][skill=card]Flail[/skill][skill=card]Healing Signet[/skill][skill=card]Enraging Charge[/skill]

This build,imo, is awesome for the current state of AB. Sin gank groups, SF Eles, and Dervs that want to strip enchantments with Grenth have all fallen under my blade. 1 on 1s? Ha! I have killed 3 warrior at once with this build, but that was more of their lack of skill than my build at work.

Yet, I have solo dueled many times with many players, and can say that this build has kept me alive through most of those situations. Only time I had a problem was with a Grenth's Balance W/N, since he just took my Hp when he was nearly dead and a Dolyak/HH wammo that just wouldn't die fast enough for my taste, but he did die eventually. Yet, the call out seems to mostly be from Luxon W/Mos and the sins just pop in and run into DR, then as I gash them they get an earful of YAA, then they try to slink off. Some get away, but most don't. And don't get it confused, all that attack physically get the DR and bleed for the gash. Eles don't get hit by it, but Flail/Galrath Slash do the job, after some time of building adrenaline while protected by ER.

All in all, I can kill anything on an AB field with a proper opportunity, but solo guys are usually dead either way. Better to stay in a team, they have a better chance of beating me

Don't get me started about gank sin groups, theyre all over the place. AB is a very sin-friendly environment with all the headless chicken running around alone. I run an air ele in AB with dual attunes and blinding flash. Nothing is more fun then to blind a sin right before he shadowsteps, all of a sudden they are in trouble range and they can't do anything . They hate me, really...

One thing I really enjoy is countering a MM in AB. Especially one on one. Just bring Verata's Aura, run into range of the Flesh Golem, +4 Bone Fiends, +4 Bone Minions and their Necro master, fire off Verata's and watch him scream in agony when suddenly all of his precious minions start attacking him. After he's dead, you got some minions for free as well, and the next time you see the same Necro raising his minions, just repeat the process. You basically render one of your foes useless, at the expense of only 1 skill. (ah that glorious day when the opposing team used three MM's )

Heh... I 1-on-1 persistant enemy assassins for fun. Usually it only takes me concentrating on them once or twice for them to learn not to take me on alone (and while a hoarde can take me down far more easily, I can usually hurt them more in return too).

Typically its just SS and Insidious Parasite that does the trick... but if I really want to rub salt in the wound I add Reckless Haste as well.... typically capped off with Parasitic Bond. Its so funny to watch the stupid ones keep attacking until they die... ^_^ ... The smarter ones start running to find friends the moment I dump the SS on them.

Wammos? Other idiotic solo warriors?
Typically all it takes is Insidious Parasite and Enfeeblement / Enfeebling Touch... then I just stand there and smile at them until they're dead (though usually with Parasitic Bond just in case).

Oh... and of course the occasional daring Shadow Form Assassin who gets hit with Chilblains.

But the really great thing about playing an Assassin primary as an SS Necro is that the stupider of the Mesmers and like will cast Empathy on me instead of Backfire... and the enemy stick up their anti-melee defences around me.... only to have me swap my staff out and hex the bastards to their doom. >=D

One thing that tends to confuse me is a concept that apparently harbors honor and glory (imo, so don't flame me) amongst the Luxons:
Happens on both factions. And btw this is fuelled by the increasing population of cookie cutter shadow prison sins who think they're uber leet because they can press 5 or 6 buttons to kill someone.

I almost all the time find that it's Kurzick Assassins (are any other types of kurzicks?) are the most likely to bite off more then they can chew and challenge someone to a 1 on 1, or either provoke this by targetting the same person over and over.

Mostly male assassins more than female. Us luxons of course love the challenge of a 1 on 1 (mainly because being prepared counts, and we arent often unprepared for suitations) and it would be both embarassing and rude to turn down an offer.

for me, when it comes to 1 vs 1 fights, me playing as a mesmer, i'm the no.1 choice for assassins as targets, so naturally nearly all of my 1 vs 1 fights are against pesky little gankers. Ineptitude, or IW build with deadly riptose which is pure magic, ends it fast and clean (then they call me a noob with no skill yada yada bla bla) , but thats not the point.

Actually i dont know what my point is but i think that maybe you will be a target of a 1 vs 1 fight based on your playstyle. Be prepared to be targeted by a certain class, since the stereotypical matches are always out there.

For the same reason(that is the amount of assassins in AB) I usually replace Rez Sig in RA builds with shield bash if I can. That one really scews them majorly. I have yet to see an assassin waiting it out(strength skill, so it only lasts 5 sec, enough if I use it when they shadowstep to me).

On the other hand, waiting 5 sec for shield bash to expire would also make their Shadow Prison expire so their combo is gone either way.

On another similar note, had a wammo charge at our group of 6 people + 3 MESMERS in the Ele defense point (idk what he was thinking maybe: 'my HH will pwn them all'). With all his enchants shattered, he died in around five seconds, then he types OMG it took 6 of you to kill me, and other profanities about our faction. It's situations like these that make ABs kick ass.

I'm under the impression that most Assassins in AB don't pay attention to anything that happens after they start their combo. Shield Bash owns them so bad it hurts, packing Disciplined Stance too works wonders.

I love when people either whine about duels, or whine about mobbing. Either one gives me plenty of fuel to embarass them in chat.
